Why Jimmy Carter deserves a monument?
He has shown the best side of America. After Watergate, when the people needed a leader that was not crooked or dishonest, they chose Jimmy Carter.
He showed us that we can be a country at peace. We did not have to be at war all the time. He showed a stature that has not been shown by any President since. His honesty and public service should be rewarded. In my own personal opinion, he was twice the man of Ronald Reagan.
For the goodness he has exhibited with the Carter Center and his work around the world, in the name of peace, he deserves to have a monument in his honor.
Perhaps the state of Georgia will make his home in Plains, Georgia a state park as a testament to this great man...

The lasting monument to the astoundingly incompetent Carter is the mullah dictatorship in Iran and the rise of muzzie terror worldwide.
Before Jimmeh decided to betray the Shah, stabbing him in the back and allowing Khomeini to take power, Iran was a strong U.S. friend in the region.
Muzzie savages were contained and suppressed by secular authoritarian regimes all over the Middle East.
Iran opened the floodgates and the civilized world is still suffering.
So if the moonbats want a monument to Jimmy Carter, just look at the Iranian muslim atomic bomb.
That's how virulent his hatred for Israel was. That's his monument.

49. Let's build Jimmy Carter neighborhoods full of houses for low income people
At least one in every city and town in the country.
That would be a fitting monument to President Carter and the work he has done.
I agree that it would be a fitting monument. The most recent Habitat community established near here brought the first murder in recent memory, if not ever, to that area. They're such great places, and usually full of so much "diversity".
It's also already a huge eyesore, much like Jimmeh's term.

They already named a carrier after him. As far as I'm concerned, even that was a stretch.

A monument already exists for Jimmy the incompetent, it's located somewhere in an Iranian desert rusting away.

People may have deserved a leader but they voted the incompetent patsy into office so that's what they got. He also bowed down to Russia and Iran and helped install the Mullahs as the leaders of Iran. The Shah wasn't perfect by any means but the Iranian people were far less abused and ruled by an iron fisted, fanatical Ayatollah. Unfortunately, 0bama decided he needed to further the disaster Carter started because he was too spineless to stand up to Russia. He was just another Neville Chamberlain choosing appeasement over strength. Liberals never learn from history.
However, if I may suggest a monument for him, I think it should be a giant killer rabbit, his daughter Amy and himself sitting around discussing how to solve the world's problems.

How about a bronze statue of a thermostat wearing a sweater ?
Or a bronze statue of a line of cars all the way around the block waiting to get gas at a bronze gas station ?
How about a bronze statue of the whole country ?
The whole country was in a literal and and figurative economic and winter induced deep freeze.

IIRC, the Jimmy Carter is the last of the three Seawolf-class SSNs.

You are correct. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Jimmy_Carter_(SSN-23)). She came into commission in early 2005. Looks like the Carter is replacing the USS Parche (Sturgeon class, older than the Los Angeles class of SSNs) in doing (ironically) intelligence work and testing top secret intel equipment.
So at least there's one Jimmy Carter doing useful and valuable work for this country.
