Black Lives Matter. Period.

Only certain Black lives matter for them.

Black Lives Matter. Period.
I'm very discouraged as I read the posts regrading Black Lives Matter.
This is not about Bernie Sanders, or Hillary Clinton, or any other politician for that matter.
Its about black lives and their fear and distrust of police, with reason due to history. And the police, who are in a positition of authority, and with knowledge, and their distrust and fear of black lives.
I for one know, I would never be shot for missing a license plate. I would never be chocked to death for selling a cigarette. etc. etc. etc.
I am a democrat because I am for equal rights. That includes civil rights, equal justice, oh hell, I'm just for equality, for all, period.
I'm disgusted that some have chosen to make this about Bernie and Hillary. It's not.
I'm disgusted that some seem to be personally insulted by the fact that AA's are angry.
I'm disgusted that some have decided to lash out at AA'a because of their perceived personal insults.
Look, I've been a pretty vocal HRC proponent. And if you paid any attention at all, Bravenak doesn't care for HRC at all. I'm pretty sure HRC is her very last choice.
Yet some were so upset at what they perceived as a Bernie insult, (newsflash it wasn't, it was directed to all in hopes that it would turn on your brains) and perhaps a very misguided insult to themselves, they chose to alert and hide many of her posts.
Stupid sensitivity. She wasn't targeting you, personally, she was taking the time to explain a side you are refusing to see. And it was very clear that those who refuse to see, doubled down. You know, when you stop listening, you stop learning.
DU is a democratic board. Civil rights, equal rights and judicial rights are a huge part of the Democratic platform. Black Lives Matter is our biggest civil rights issue of modern times, therefore a big part of the democratic platform.
Agan, it's not about Bernie, It's not about Hillary. It's about common sense. Black Lives Matter. Period.
So I say Kudo to those, like Bravenak and others, who have us thinking about it, and talking about it.
Silence is not an option. Ignorarance is not an option. Nothing will change if that is the attitude we take. And that's not what being a democrat is about.
DU is a racist site. I made my case. :mental: :loser:

Do we really want to stifle African American voices here?

16. Absolutely!
Black lives matter. If you claim to support civil rights, equality, and justice for all, then just don't talk about it but walk the walk. Do not claim for yourself rights that you are not willing to extend to others in all things. This discussion around these issues are is not a philosophical one and the questions are not rhetorical. People are being maimed and killed and families suffering great loss while a whole community lives in fear, including people in the DU community.

Closing your mind and heart cuts both ways and those who have doubled down are doing your candidates no favor. Shutting people down because they present uncomfortable truths about our nation and, yes, about the left side of politics is not about any one candidate. Listening is a good place to begin. The struggle for these rights is larger that this political contest. Politicians come and go. Injustice and inequality have remain unaddressed and racism has been institutionalized. What is being ask of you is that you rise to meet the challenge and be part of the fight for the rights in which you claim to believe.
Black lives matter.
Do all Black lives matter to you?

Bullshit. It's about media hyping racial division to help democrats win elections.
It's about blacks wanting free rein to commit crimes without getting harassed by the po-po.

Right on.

I will argue that to BLM the only black lives that matter are those who get killed by the police. Never a word about the mass murder of blacks by other blacks in America. They are all about the politics of the cause and care nothing about the lives of blacks being murdered daily because there is no political gain in putting as much effort to defend blacks from other blacks. This is just away to bring themselves individual notoriety and do something "controversial" in order to gain that attention.
If they really cared about black lives they'd be barging in to inner city bars on Friday nights and confronting the black gangs and drug dealers who happily kill for profit and revenge. You know why they won't do this? Because they know they'd end up as a statistic in the black on black murder totals. It is much safer to annoy a bunch of people having brunch in the suburbs than it is face the true cause of their trouble. Blame the cops instead of the culture that bred the need for cops to assume the worse about black youth.

All 10 of them?

All 10 of them?
Didn't they just do a shout out on the A/A forum where it turned out 99.9% of those who post there are white hippie supporters?

I for one know, ... I would never be chocked to death for selling a cigarette.
True, but neither was the black guy in NY. A police officer tried to arrest him for selling cigarettes on which the state/local taxes had not been paid, i.e. for dodging taxes. Had he gone along with the arrest, as he had done in the past, he would be alive today. Instead, he chose to resist arrest, and in the resisting-restraining his knife-fork-and-spoon-control problem became deadly - due to his exertion, not being choked.
It's funny how omitting a "few" relevant facts can transmogrify the truth into a lie. Why do I suspect that "a few" relevant facts are, similarly, omitted from this statement, "... shot for missing a license plate"?

you can say that again
For once a DUmmy says something true - at the DUmp it's not an option, it's obligatory.
Given that black lives matter, should we look at the largest cause of death among blacks? Margaret Sanger would be very happy to see the work her followers are doing, 'nuff said.

They're better than anyone at beating a topic to death.

I was just thinking the same thing - that was hilarious.

Didn't see this until after I posted. You are correct as usual. ^5

Not to most of the urban Black population, apparently. The only time they seem to matter is when a White cop is the shooter.

Funny thing about those black men that police kill, they are almost all violent criminals with very long rap sheets and former felons. Oh, and then they have a gun or shoot at the police, they invariably run away from police. Pretty much the escalation of violence is all on the black violent criminal.
Another point, more black people die in Baltimore and Philadelphia in a month killed by black men than in a whole year in the entire country killed by police.
Facts are inconvenient things for the racist left. .

I have yet to hear of one single person killed by police that wasn't resisting in some way. Not one of them had a clean record, and most were well known to the local cops.

Or a White-Hispanic with a Jewish sounding last name.
