:thatsright:
-
the most disturbing feature of the VF cover is that GWB takes the place of UBL in the portrait over
the mantle.

Its' profound innaccuracy makes it funny. Without "The New Yorker" cover, it would have been moderately amusing.

No, what's amusing is that both magazines are owned by the same company.

Way to go, insult the elderly - they're just the largest segment of the American population most likely to donate and vote in any election. ::)

Not only that, but they accentuated his cheek which was a result of his battle with skin cancer...Way to go! Now they're also pissing off people who had a significant malady.
Journalism is going downhill.fast.

So, is Vanity Fair going with this as a satire of what the left thinks of McCain and Mrs. McCain? Or is this what Vanity Fair actually thinks of McCain and Mrs. McCain?

considering VF's editorial leanings... both

I've gotta go with Satire. You've gotta have a DUmmie x2 level of thought to honestly run with something like this and be serious about it, after the backlash of the Obama one.
-
This really doesn't bother me as much as the ****ed up cartoon of him in a Tiger cage. This is just satire. Very, very tasteless satire.
-
Tasteless yes. But then, discriminating taste requires the ability to, well, DISCRIMINATE. Something offensive to NeoComs at any level.

Except for the Constitution in the fire, which is a liberal's wet dream, it looks like a normal American couple. The drugs are legal. The wife is loving. There is a great American portrait over the mantel. Where's the joke?

I didn't see the Constitution.
Actually, after closer observation, I saw the Preamble. Yeah, it's about f'n stupid, seeing as how THIS is the party that wants to restrict our 2nd right. :whatever:
-
Wow, they totally put McCain in his place with that one. :whatever: :whatever: :whatever: I can't believe they were witty and perceptive enough to crack an "old joke!" What genius! The first ones to do it, too!
Now the New Yorker... THAT was funny :lmao:

What pissed me off in the video link is that they are claiming that the McCain drawing is making fun of what we know about the McCains (Cindy's past troubles with prescription pain killers, McCain's age, etc...) while the Obama cover was portraying them as things they aren't (radicals who love OBL, etc...)
Ugh. SO I guess they want us to think that the McCain one is better somehow.
For the record, I don't find any of these depictions funny or helpful. Yes, I smirked at the Obama one. But more so because it says more about the Left than it does the Right.
