LOL! My wife just got back from volunteering at a library book sale [View all]

At the end of the day any used books that did not find a new owner ended up going to the mulcher.

She watched intently all day long to see if a particular set of books piqued anyone's interest.

But no. Not a single person showed any interest in these books, despite the attractive slender blond decorating the covers.

At the end of the day, she watched with amusement as every single Anne Coulter book went into the mulcher to be composted.

I hope the earthworms don't get indigestion.

3. I loved reading this post, and it gave me the best laugh of the day.

Let's hear it for worm fodder. I'm working on leaving a nice, juicy carcass for them.

OK, here's a good business op - I don't see any entries for "worm composting coffin" in Google.

DUmmie pinto is way ahead of you.

When our Borders was going out of business, there was a table piled high with Palin books. They could not get rid of them, even for a dollar.
So much for best selling author.

23. It turns out, there were Sara Palin books as well, and also George and Barbara Bush

None of those were spared from the compost.

Dilbert on the other hand did find a new owner.

Yeah.  The DUmmie just happened to forget all the Palin and Bush books that made it to the shredder in their OP.  But it's all better, because they remembered them now.

24. as a retired public librarian, I'll offer some even better news

the books that end up in these sales are normally those that have not been checked out FOR YEARS

43. My library in deep red country had their big book sale last weekend and I too can report

a plethora of Ann Coulter, Sarah Palin, and various other RW books out on the tables. A few were weeded from the library collection, as mentioned by a retired librarian above, but I'd say the majority of them came from donations the library system collects throughout the year. People around here know that they can donate all the books they no longer want to the library and they will either add them to the collection (rarely), sell them at the book sale (mostly), or dispose of them properly (frequently).

I'll give the DUmmy credit for describing Ann as an attractive slender blonde.

The End.

Interesting.

Stacks and stacks of books by Palin, Coulter, and the Bushes.

Note the DUmmy accidentally mentioned they were used books.

He spoiled his own bouncy tale.

Books sold in highest volume show up in used book sales in highest volume.

Not only that, but libraries tend to buy multiple copies of highly popular books. It's likely the library was clearing their shelves of popular books to make room for the next wave of best selling books by right wing authors.

I imagine conservative books don't sell well in liberal blue state hell holes.

....and what was the DUmmies fussing about. Dummies only eat the covers off books anyway.

Do these DUmmies realize that these books getting shredded do not cost Coulter or Palin a single penny?  In fact, these books were actually sold at one point which put money in the pockets of the conservative authors.

There are probably as many intelligent readers in blue hellhole states.

They're just vastly outnumbered by democrat deadbeats and 0bamaites who don't read books of any kind.

Political books don't have much of a shelf life.  Nobody wants to read about Scooter Libby or Valerie Plame in 2015.
