Busy September Looms for President Obama, but First: Two Weeks on Martha's Vineyard
President Obama will slip out of Washington on Friday afternoon for his annual Martha’s Vineyard vacation, just in time for the political spotlight to swing firmly away from the White House and toward the 2016 presidential campaign after the first Republican debate on Thursday night.
But after two weeks of cool island breezes and leisurely rounds of golf, Mr. Obama is expected to return to the capital — and to the spotlight — with a vengeance, pushing for congressional approval of the Iran nuclear deal, seeking a global climate change accord and working to wrap up an agreement on trade with Pacific Rim nations.
The president also faces the growing likelihood of another budget showdown with Congress, and aides say he may try again to build support for investment in the nation’s crumbling infrastructure.
In late September alone, Mr. Obama will be dealing with the Iran vote in Congress, a historic visit to Washington by Pope Francis, a separate state visit by President Xi Jinping of China and a meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
“After some downtime with his family, the president is looking forward to a fall schedule that is shaping up to be a blockbuster — as several high-priority issues come to a head, seemingly at the same time,†said Josh Earnest, the White House press secretary....

BHO, Mooch-chelle, & fam probably cost taxpayers multiples of GWB's trips to Crawford. He owned the place, and Secret Service people could have a long-term set up for comm and housing. With BHO they have to set up, tear down, and rent whatever housing is available on a per day or per week basis. Same deal with WJC and Tsaritsa CHILL. But, yeah. Libs & Progs begrudged every moment GWB spent at his home in Crawford, every moment GHWB spent at his home in Kennebunkport, and every moment RWR spent at his ranch in Santa Barbara. That is what slays me. The left gets all bent out shape about any criticism of obumbles and conveniently forgot what they said about Bush.

We're just too damned smart to be liberals. :-) I believe most conservatives could sustain a traumatic brain injury, and STILL be smarter than any liberal.

Amen. I often comment (usually when I screw something up) I'm not perfect, neither is anyone else, and the last perfect person who did walk on Earth was crucified 2,000 years ago.
Glad you're still on "this side of the dirt", as I plan to be for some time, but all those plans are out the window if/when He calls me home.

Too weird! Mine was also 27 years ago, though not exactly traumatic (and more mundane, a benign tumor that was probably present when I was born). But I've always been this strange, :-) .
