Chicago police detained thousands of black Americans at interrogation facility
http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/aug/05/homan-square-chicago-thousands-detained
At least 3,500 Americans have been detained inside a Chicago police warehouse described by some of its arrestees as a secretive interrogation facility, newly uncovered records reveal.
Of the thousands held in the facility known as Homan Square over a decade, 82% were black. Only three received documented visits from an attorney, according to a cache of documents obtained when the Guardian sued the police.
Despite repeated denials from the Chicago police department that the warehouse is a secretive, off-the-books anomaly, the Homan Square files begin to show how the city’s most vulnerable people get lost in its criminal justice system.
What does Obama have to say about this?

I know there is no love lost for the ghetto set but this is the sort of shit conservatives warn about concerning abusive government.
To not protest this is to permit it until it comes for us.

Can we at least wait until the clean out a few of the blue hell hole cities?

I have to say, even in Chicago...I would be very skeptical about a story like this.

An acquaintance of mine is a journalist, now newly minted as editor of an online local site. He is a left leaning libertarian. While I am an a conservative mostly libertarian.
He & I can totally sit, hoist a few cocktails, and talk politics. And he is no DUmmy. He posts on Facebook about police abuses often & we have discussed the Ferguson/Baltimore/Trayvon crap & actually agree that they are silly race baiting.
But given my history of living in Chicago, these stories are horrible and sadly I mostly believe them. I truly enjoyed living there, but the police are out of control. Not as much as the west & south side gangs & black on black killings.
Sorry for long post.
