WINNER OF THE franksolich FOR 2014
What's for Dinner, Sat., Aug. 8, 2015
More Chinese, I think, because it was so delicious last night. This evening, however, I will do stir fry broccoli and other vegetables to make a huge supply so that I can munch off them for a few days.
Since the noodles and sushi I bought for yesterday are still fresh, I'll have the other half of them.
I made watermelon slushies early this a.m., and was that ever refreshing to have in the 'frig, as I have been gardening all day long.
Dessert will be cut-up mixed fruit: pears, blueberries, and chopped mint. I will top with a little vanilla yogurt and toasted walnuts.

2. Finishing up the gumbo
The shrimp gumbo came out fantastic! Probably my best one. Having the head-on shrimp really made a big difference in the stock - a very deep flavor. So, I'll have that with some sourdough bread tonight - even though I still have the shrimp rice leftover.
ps: Happy birf'day yesterday, Cher
I dunno if anybody else has noticed, but it's been a long time since the cbayer primitive's been around. I wonder if the Bernie primitives chased her away.

3. Ribeye steak.
Baked potato, sliced tomato, a couple of peaches for dessert.
I always check to see what the greataunt primitive, one of Big Mo's and Skippy's and Fat Che's pals--she resembles in real life no one more so than Gertrude Stein if Gertrude Stein had looked a little bit more like Elsa Maxwell--is having before deciding what to have for supper myself.
Usually I have no say in the matter, because there's other people around and what they want is fine with me. But this evening, I'm home alone, and so it's my decision.
<<<making corn on the cob, using sour cream, salt, and pepper.

Curious, you use sour cream instead of butter when it is cooked?
I may have to try that.

Frank, that sounds like the grilled corn that you can buy from street vendors south of the border. They grill the corn and then slather it with sour cream (they call it something else though), you can get it with or without cheese.

A bit of DUmmie time traveling there eh?
Most likely a product of a drug induced time lapse.
