Sometimes It’s Just Easier To Care About Dead Lions Than Dead People
http://www.theblaze.com/contributions/sometimes-its-just-easier-to-care-about-dead-lions-than-dead-people/
I started noticing “Cecil the Lion†trending on Facebook and Twitter at some point yesterday afternoon. By the evening, it was the most popular topic on social media, and stories about the lion were popping up on all of the national news sites.
Before I took the time to investigate, I tried to imagine if there could be any valid reason for a wild cat to become the biggest news item in the world. On a day when another undercover video revealed Planned Parenthood dismembering murdered children for profit, I strained to think if there might be some justification for ignoring the harvesting of human beings in favor of obsessing over a large feline in Africa.
I thought maybe the lion had cured cancer, or sprouted wings and flown into space, or stood on its hind legs and recited the Gettysburg Address. Surely, these developments would vindicate the disproportionate amount of attention it was receiving. But I quickly found out that the lion, from Zimbabwe, had done no such thing. Apparently, all it did was die.
He nails it right on.
Some of the comments are stupid.

@Matt Walsh
You realize it’s possible to be upset about more than one thing at a time, right?

This article is ludicrous. Matt Walsh is extremely presumptuous here. He assumes he understands liberals, but in demonizing them he prevents himself.from understanding at all. People are not stupid – they aren’t hating on the dentist because they’re battling with some inner demon. The death of the lion is tragic because of what it represents – human disdain for the natural world, putting human life on a pedestal over animals as if we’re somehow more important, and the seemingly futility of trying to prevent poaching of endangered animals. The backlash is arguably more than deserved, but that has more to do with mob mentality and the indifference of ruining someone’s life through a computer screen. It has nothing to do with misplaced aggression.
Abortion is not comparable to the killing of this lion. There is no life taken in when a fetus is aborted – it was stopped before it began. This is not immoral, and is some cases is a moral imperative. Mothers only have an an obligation to protect children she chooses to take in, and should not be forced to deliver and raise a kid over a simple mistake. It’s her body after all, and for.much of birth a child is indistinguishable from, sat, one of her organs. No one cares about the videos being released, because most people understand there isn’t much of a story there. The abortion angle causes no outrage, and so what if the tissue is sold? It’s unlikely that it is, but if so it’s a crime on the level of embezzlement or insider trading.

I agree with Matt Walsh on most points, but I struggle with how he demonizes “progressivesâ€. He is always blaming the deceived masses for the lies that they believe. But the father of lies is Satan. He deserves our wrath, more than the sheep that have gone astray. Matt Walsh is a very skilled and persuasive writer. But this constant failing of his keeps me from sharing his articles. He points his gun at the lost, when he should be reaching out a loving hand of truth.
When I see "but" used, I am suspicious.

No laws were broken by PP and the majority of Americans support the work of PP. No one is forcing you to have an abortion, and if you care so much for children adopt one, support public education, support organizations that advance the goals of help children. Or STFU.

I believe simpletruths is engaging in some complex lies. "Majority of Americans support the work of pp." I think not. :bird:

Dr. Mengle is smiling in hell, CarnivalQueue. As is Margret Sanger. as for your typo (sat? really?) and the bolded statement, you are equating the sale of human body parts, something that was done in the KONZENTRATIONSLAGERS of NAZI GERMANY, to INSIDER TRADING? Really b!tch?
So Once again, so I'm clear, this:

is being equated with this:

It's really telling to me, that you can seemingly write off a HUMAN BEING like this, but are all butt-hurt about a lion. GFYS CarnivalQueue, with a pinapple grenade sans pin.... Sideways.

What a liar! Show me the vast throng of Progs who are outraged at PP's Ghouling For Dollars! Unless I've missed some one, Progs are all but lockstep in condemning these pro-Life people for exposing PP!

Exactly. They're pissed because their inhumanity has been exposed for all to see.

The average lifespan of a male lion in the wild is about 15 to 18 years.
Cecil was already 13.
He could expect to die of natural causes in about a year.
But we should rejoice that the libs have made this their cause celebre.
It shows very vividly without the smokescreens and propaganda the libs usually emit when they are trying to protect their most sacred sacrament of abortion.
The contrast is stark and shows the libs in an ugly light of their own making.
