BURBANK, Calif. — The 6-year-old daughter of Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood was in critical but stable condition on Monday after a pool accident in Los Angeles on Friday, according to a press release put out by a spokesman for the Fleetwood family.
“Ruby was the victim of an accident that is potentially extremely serious, but she is doing quite well and the medical staff here at Cedars is optimistic that she will make a full recovery,†said Dr. Keith Kimble, attending staff at the Cedars Sinai Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in Los Angeles.
On Friday, Ruby and her twin sister Tessa were on a playdate with close friends of the family at a pool in the Hidden Hills area of Los Angeles. Contrary to recent Internet reports, the child was not doing cartwheels near the pool and did not hit her head. The accident did not occur at the Fleetwoods’ home.

I hope she continues to improve. That's sad.

They say that pool accidents are one of the highest killers of people in the US. I hope the poor kid recovers.

Poor kid -- I would think people with pools and small children would take special precautions, but it is impossible to know.
Prayers for the kid an the family.

"When pools are outlawed, only outlaws will have pools!"
(Getting ready for the left's demands we do away with pools)

All the precautions in the world won't replace parental supervision.
Here is Phoenix, pool fences are required for all new homes. Even with fences, curious children find ways to sneak in.
There have even been child drownings when mulitple adults were home at the time. Everyone just assumed that someone else was watching the kid.
It happens on a weekly basis here in the summer. It's tragic.
There is no better precaution that parental supervision.

well, sometimes these things happen in the blink of an eye.. especially with kids.
our eight year old cannot stop doing cartwheels everywhere... and i mean everywhere. it worries the hell out of me that she might cartwheel down the stairs, but she is almost doing round offs (if you remember what those are..) and she just keeps trying new things.
i could keep harping on her all the time to keep her feet on the ground, but i just dont think its going to work with this kiddo.. thank God we dont have a pool though. my heart couldnt take that.
