Title: California AG To Review Planned Parenthood 'Sting' Videos
Post by: dutch508 on July 25, 2015, 05:27:48 PM
to see if any laws were broken

her office will look into "allegations that individuals impersonated corporate officials from a fake biologics company, resulting in the release of secretly filmed videos of Planned Parenthood physicians without their consent."

Yeah... not investigate PP if laws were broken by them for selling dead baby parts, but against the whistleblowers that caught them out!

California AG To Review Planned Parenthood 'Sting' Videos

Source: ASSOCIATED PRESS

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California Attorney General Kamala Harris said Friday that she plans to review two undercover videos released by anti-abortion activists aimed at discrediting Planned Parenthood's procedures for providing fetal tissue to researchers, to see if any laws were broken.

Harris announced the move in a letter to four Democratic members of Congress who had requested an investigation, saying she'll use her office's authority to regulate charity organizations to see if the organization that made the videos violated registration or reporting requirements, or broke any other rules. Harris, a Democrat, plans to run for the U.S. Senate in 2016.

"We will carefully review the allegations raised in your letter to determine whether there were any violations of California law," Harris said in the letter to four members of the U.S. House of Representatives.

She said her office will look into "allegations that individuals impersonated corporate officials from a fake biologics company, resulting in the release of secretly filmed videos of Planned Parenthood physicians without their consent."

9. The physician thought she was talking to scientists in fetal tissue research

Tissues have to be "processed" in order to isolate cells and grow them in media. A lay person cringes at the descriptions but that is how science is.

Two gastoenterologists talking about colonoscopies at a dinner table may make ordinary people cringe but to them, it is just another scientific discourse.

they sold baby parts for profit.

4. I'm so proud of our state in times like this

Democrats are perfectly fine with killing babies and selling their parts on the black market for their own profit.

16. **** the videos it's the 38 companies that are more damaging to the Right.

at least 17 companies on that list I either have a negative opinion or boycott outright. and some extreme pro lifers work for the companies that donate to PP. Although Exxon is very glaring. I don't donate to Komen because oil companies donate. but Exxon? I've boycotted them since Prince William Sound. the longest and earliest company I've ever boycotted or tried to. That's extremely damaging compared to the absurd false videos...

21. PP is happy to hear of your support for the absurd task of exposing the massive Lie Machine of the GOP.

It is not just PP being attacked, it is the truth under attack.

Now who do we know as a common enemy that uses lies to attack with rather consistent regulatory?

I'm under the impression that California really doesn't want to do that. My understanding is these two videos are the first in a long line of ever more damning material.

Oh, I hope she does investigate them! Every little bit of information, every syllable, every "crunchy" body part, every comment about altering procedures and using ultrasound to make sure the baby is dissected for maximum preservation, every NON-tissue ORGAN discussed by PP will be heard in a court of law. And even if it doesn't end up in court, calling attention to them will just make everyone curious enough to see what all the harping was about. It will be nearly impossible to keep this from becoming a national story (though the MSM will try). Heck, if it were me, I'd be willing to go to jail to make sure the entire world could see what savage, heartless butchers the people that work at PP are. I'd release them in a flood before any investigation gets underway to make sure every single one of them would see the light of day. Guess Gosnell wasn't an isolated incident. They put Joseph Mengele to shame. No wonder they fight every piece of legislation that requires certain standards. Health of women be damned, those livers have to be harvested. Evidently "reproductive rights" is code for Lamborghini.

If you want to get a sickening inkling of Kamala Harris' character, when she was DA in SF she wouldn't go for the death penalty, not even when the person murdered was a police officer.

Libs and Progs will cheer this. PP may even, in public statements, cheer it. But privately PP may be speed-dialing AG Harris' office begging her not to investigate or prosecute, because of how much more would and might be revealed.

Libs and Progs may choose to believe the folks who have done these videos are idiots who didn't consider the possible consequences of their actions, but these folks have been doing this for over a decade, and have been hearing these blustery threats for just as long. They know, and they are prepared.

Harris might have a hard time finding a jury, even in CA, of 12 people who would buy what amounts to arguing that PP shouldn't have gotten caught violating Federal law. OTOH, given the timing of the election, Kamala Harris might get elected US Senator and her vaunted "investigation" might wither away from neglect during the campaign and Harris heading for DC.

What possible law did they break?

I don't think they broke any law. - I would think this all falls under 'whistleblower' protections. However, I do think this is an attempt to silence the organization releasing the videos. Liberals love 'free speech' - unless it is speech about something they oppose. Then they need to silence it.

I'm no lawyer (and maybe should stop there), but IF any of the videos were recorded in CA it might violate CA's two-party consent law for recording things. OTOH, if the videos were recorded with all parties outside of CA, Kamala Harris would have no jurisdiction, and even using CA taxpayer $$ to write that letter would be a waste of taxpayer $$ (not that she would investigate and prosecute herself for misuse of taxpayer $$).

It's my understanding that these video's were done in the San Gabriel Valley PP.  Kamala Harris is despicable. What has me scratching my head is why did Donald Trump donate $6,000 to her U.S. senatorial campaign, if he is a Republican candidate for president. She couldn't be any more left and it certainly has me questioning where his loyalties lie in this. PP should have been defunded decades ago. All it did was allow for the careful crafting of federal dollars for abortions to be used in another way.

Time to put my bar studying to good use.  Depending on the state law, there's no expectation of privacy in public.  In PA, you have no expectation of privacy for things you say in public or over the telephone.   Some states enact stricter privacy law, so I would have to look into it.  However, given the fact they were at a restaurant, it's really tough to argue there's any expectation.

Unless CA's law is pretty weird - even by what most folks would expect of CA - that it took place in a restaurant should make the "investigation" rather brief. That it was publicly announced constitutes attempted intimidation, and if the "investigation" lasts more than minutes that would make the "investigation" lawfare (harassment with the purpose of costing the "investigated" money and time).

If my tone doesn't make it obvious, I think Kamala Harris well capable of committing both abuses of her office.

Not really a mystery why it happened. Democrats donate to democrats all the time.

trump is at least partly a "government entrepreneur". Much of his business "success" comes from subsidies and special tax breaks. So the $6K was probably a peace offering. Not sure Kamala Harris' price is that low or whether she would stay bought.

I LOVE the 'highly edited' talking point. Anyone can download and watch the entire unedited exchanges straight from YouTube.  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXSI8qkDPz1CZj1u9I8Wbcg

And BTW, there is something new there today. Seems to be the first part of a larger documentary.

Is the HOAX the DUmmie is talking about that PP is selling body parts? If so, is this the new meme on how to deal with this? Somehow I do not think  :lalala: is going to work as more videos come out.

Another video has been released. Looks like Kamala Harris' attempt to intimidate these folks into silence isn't working too well.
