This is NOT cosplay. These people really think they're protecting a Marine recruitment center.

My hip jargon has long gone to the great beyond.  Cosplay?  Where do they come up with this stuff.  And lets not even mention my thoughts on the folk in the photo. :mental:

There are some funny posts throughout the thread.  Only thing that could improve on this would be a couple furries dropping by to weigh in.  It does feature a crunchy Nadin observation.

3. I beg to differ. That is cosplay.
Just because they deny it, doesn't make it not so. Just because it's bad, doesn't make it not so. That's people wearing costumes to play a character. Just because the character is from their imagination and not a movie, comic book or video game doesn't make it not cosplay.

signed, a veteran at cosplay.

Wasn't quite sure if cosplay and foreplay were somehow related but decided not to spend too much time overthinking things. :whatever:

fashion flare! A stars and stripes PJs, combat boots, we think, and an AR-15 while on an electric wheelchair.

That looks like well, any hardened combat superhero you have ever seen.
for those who will surely need it.

Oh and the other two, one escaped from Braveheart. He should have painted his face... and the young lady... well, that bulletproof vest looks so spiffy. She probably does not realize why people wear full BDUs... you think she is Marine Material?
I suspect more than a few Marines would think so as well as a couple of the thesbians at the DUmp.....

Every DUmmy that makes fun of the guy in the flag patterned outfit is obviously racist.

Hey, Cub Reporter Nads got one right for a change. She's right, it's not cosplay. It's normal Americans stepping up and doing what needs to be done because the Empty Suit in the White House will not....protecting those who protect us against Islamic Terrorism.

Oh and Nads? Yes that young woman in the picture is Marine material. She is worth more as a human being than all of you oxygen thieving reprobates at the DUmp will ever dream of being

Shut up Nads, you have NO CLUE what you are talking about. If I could get away with wearing a plate carrier and shorts, I would, because if you've ever had to wear ACU's and an IBA in 138 degree heat, it SUCKS. And I think every last one of those people is more 'marine material' than your globular self. They obviously believe in this country enough to be willing to do the hard work of defending our servicemen, since your administration doesn't want them defending themselves, even when it is SHOWN they are a 'soft target'. Wonkette is such an apolitical info source.

I'll leave to people here who have served in the military to explain (or not) the other reasons, but - unlike nads, apparently - even this life-long civilian knows that if US troops went into action not in uniform that would be a violation of the Geneva Conventions. Combat troops are required to wear uniforms that visually distinguish them from civilians, so as to minimize civilian casualties. It's just one of the aspects of the Conventions with which US forces complied but the jihadis systematically violated as it suited their purposes.

You would think that Mexico's greatest "combat" paramedic would understand that...

My hip jargon has long gone to the great beyond.  Cosplay?  Where do they come up with this stuff.

Cosplay is at least a somewhat common term nowadays among geek culture. Long story short, it's the people who show up to comic book/ sci- fi/ anime conventions and similar events in costume as some of their favorite characters from those mediums.
Although I'm a comic book fan and have gone to plenty of conventions, the closest I've ever come to cosplaying is wearing my Captain America hoodie (A friend got it for me last Christmas) at Megacon.

So "Furries" are cosplayers on psychoactive chemicals (or are naturally "off")?

Yep. Cosplay is VERY common among the comiccon crowd. I don't know what the photo in question shows, but millions of American participate in cosplay.

I'm thinking Guano since that's all the bald dwarf produces with it's "news gathering".
