Don't let the Confederate flag bullshit outrage fool you. Being creatures of self-serving convenience Proglodytes abandon and adopt symbols at whim.
The one thing about them that is consistent is they feel entitled to lives of quiet luxury and that other people are less being who must serve this end.

A Scary Fact.
It took humans 200,000 years to reach a population of one billion. That was in about 1800.
By 1960, we topped 3 billion.
Today, 55 years later, we're at 7 billion.
This is not our parent's or grandparent's world. Our children will be living in a very different world than we live in now.
Until I see empathy and compassion in capitalism, I'm all for moving a bit towards socialism.
We hear about "the entitlement generation" and how people these days are leeching off the government. In my mind, the government is for the people and of the people. Therefore, the people should benefit. If some surfer dude eats lobster while on welfare, he is offset by a dozen single moms supporting their kids.
Americans deserve entitlements. We deserve safety nets and we've earned it.
I've worked my entire life and have never needed unemployment or welfare but I want to know that my kids have that safety net if the company they work for moves their job overseas and leave them high and dry.
In my kids' lifetime, our population will probably double. It's time we started to care for our children and our planet. Profits be damned.

1. The looting by the 1% is the reason why more people need benefits. I'm convinced one reason
more are trying to get on disability is because so many of the good jobs are now gone. It used to be that someone that was beat up by years of physical labor would try and hang on to make retirement age if they had a good job. The older guys ended up with the easier jobs and could handle it.
It's brutal out there now. Many people that have been retired for years have no clue. I talked to a wine salesman a few weeks back. He had the same job as I did with our main competition when we started out. Now he's in his mid 50's as I am and there is no slack time. They mercilessly drive those guys. When we were kids back in the 80's, the guys that were our age now didn't have it half as hard. The difference is that all those little privately owned distributors have now all been bought up by bigger companies. My boss back then could be an asshole but he wouldn't work a 60 year old guy to death to squeeze a little more profit out of him.

2. The reality is that even welfare has been transferred from the people to corporations.
Walmart couldn't exist without tax breaks and the social welfare system their employees need to exist. Our taxes support their profits.
As you say, when you were a kid the small distributors cared more because they were local people doing business in their community. Now, these companies are large conglomerates based thousands of miles away only caring for the dividends their stockholders receive. People are only instruments to generate profits.

These people are actually willing to be happy little entitlement slaves.
No the founding fathers did not envision a government "for the people, by the people, and the people's personal nanny from cradle to grave."

8. I agree...
... but I would recommend being a bit more circumspect in the use of dog-whistle terms like "Entitlements." It's used by the Republicans as an oblique way of suggesting that someone is getting something they don't deserve, which, like all the verbal vomit spewed by conservatives, is a bald-faced lie.
And you're dead on regarding capitalism and corporations, but there will be a skating rink in Hell before you will ever see a Higgs-Boson-sized particle of empathy or compassion exhibited by a corporatist. They are, without exception, textbook sociopaths, congenitally incapable of comprehending the concept of empathy, let alone showing it. Otherwise, they wouldn't be allowed in the club in the first place.
And they all think the Sun shines out of the bony dead ass of a third-rate hack novelist who called herself Ayn Rand. Alisa Rosenbaum (her real name) was evil incarnate, and would rant for hours about her hatred of altruism, an essential element of which is... empathy. I met the bitch, however briefly, in 1968. I was 21 and my employers were ardent admirers. Her talk focused on what vile parasites working people are. Take it from there.
In typical fashion, conservatives conflate capitalism and free enterprise. Capitalism is the prostitution of free enterprise. In free enterprise, you provide a product or service for which you are compensated in a manner commensurate with the quality of said product or service.
Capital is money. Capitalism is all about the accumulation and control of money, while expending as little as possible to acquire it. Just look at Wall Street, if your stomach can stand it.
Corporatism is the single most virulent cancer afflicting humanity, and if it isn't wiped off the face of the Earth soon, our extinction as a species is an engraved-in-stone certainty, along with nearly every other life form on this Blue Marble. The cockroaches will survive, and probably evolve into corporatists again. Sigh... the circle never ends.
Well. Have a nice day!
What is the Proglodyte mania to have their existence, not only supported, but appreciated by total strangers?
"Lo-o-o-ove me-e-e-e-e-e-e-e!"
We have to support them.
We can only use what words they approve of.
We have to make cakes for their little fag weddings.
I don't get it.
When someone doesn't like me I'd just as soon they keep to themselves. I don't go panting off after them trying to squeal and bitch at them until they accept me.

Dear Dumbasses,
You all are lazy,useless assholes.
Die in a ditch.

With liberals it's symbolism over substance every time. The uproar about the Stars and Bars is the most recent example of this. You can get rid of every trace of it and nothing will change. People, right and left (yes DUmbasses some of the most racist people on the planet have been and are leftists and people you support), will still be racist when it's gone.
Dear Dumbasses,
You all are lazy,useless assholes.
Die in a ditch.
:hi5: And hopefully in the most painful way possible.

Tell me, DUche, what the @#$! have you done and sacrificed to 'deserve' your FREESHIT!!!ELEBINTY!!!? How many times have you been far away from home during holidays, kids/wife's birthdays, anniversaries, etc. How many co-workers have you seen permanently disabled or killed to support the 'freedoms' you so willingly flaunt and violate? How many times have you been told you will be being deployed to hostile combat zones with about 100,000 less people to get the job done, and oh by the way, the MOST RESTRICTIVE ROE POSSIBLE?
I could go on, but you get the idea. You haven't done SHIT to earn your 'entitlements'. The only people who have are the .45 percent of the population that are actively serving in the Armed Forces. You SSDI @#$!sticks on the other hand, are leeches on society who in some cases haven't done a day's hard work in YOUR LIFE, but seem to think just because you are stealing oxygen from the more productive members of society, that you are entitled to a standard of living.
So long story short, DUche, you should tell your kids life isn't fair, if you want something you have to work for it and SACRIFICE TO GET IT. That is the only way anything worth meaning is achieved.

Apparently I am not alone in my observations:
I also felt in my bones, rather than just intellectually, the scourge of the Civil War, the repercussions of which still resonate in our world. And if those who chant “Black lives matter — but no one else’s lives do†think they are any different from those who believed in slavery and segregation, they are completely delusional. The takeaway is that the Democrat party never changes: It is now and always will be devoted to racial hatred enforced by government power.
Speaking of the South and race, I’ve never seen a part of the U.S. that’s as racially integrated as the South. Wherever we went, people of all races dined together, traveled together, worked together, or were clearly dating or married without regard to racial boundaries. In my part of the world — the uber-Liberal San Francisco Bay Area — people of various races tend to stick with their own kind. If you walk into a restaurant, the blacks will be at one table, the whites at a second, and the Asians at a third. They won’t be fighting, but they sure won’t be mixing.
In the South, the races seem to be comfortable to mix-and-match. This integration was so obvious that even the Leftist in our party, who had already delivered a lecture — predicated on the Confederate flag kerfuffle — about the South’s racism, was forced to comment upon the harmony we saw.

Is the idiot really saying "For every one lazy ass surfer who does nothing to contribute to society and uses his EBT card to eat lobster, 12 single hard-working moms who sometimes have to hold 2-3 jobs pay for it" and that's okay?! It's okay to be a leach? Did the DUmmie really just admit that in their liberal eyes it's okay to be a parasite?
Wow.
Apparently the left has no problems paying for entitlements off the backs of single moms - who are some of the hardest working people.

Pretty sure the garbled nonsense this dolt is saying is that even if there are some who slip through the cracks and then leech off the system, that isn't a counter argument to end a program that helps others who are truly in need.
Of course, I've never heard a conservative say we shouldn't help people who are truly in need, but liberals in general like to create a strawman of what they would like for conservative to believe and then offer up their counter viewpoint.
In this case, this primitive is not only doing that, but they're making the case that it's not worth the effort to even *try* and determine who's in legitimate need and who's scamming the system because, you know, there's dozens of single moms out there. Never occurs to this dimwit that the scammers are taking resources away from the very people for whom they are intended.
