When it comes to Greece, why would ANY Du'ers believe Merkel/the EU/the IMF/the 1% ?
We're supposed to be a progressive, small-d "democratic" website. We're supposed to be skeptical of anything the established political and financial authorities of the world try to impose on us as dogma. We're not supposed to just take it on faith when the rulers try to impose austerity on whole nations and announce "there is no alternative" when anyone questions it.
Why would anyone here, on the non-reactionary part of the political spectrum, not call bullshit on what the economic rulers of Europe(and, essentially, the planet)are trying to impose on Greece...especially the idea that the people of Greece, the ordinary working stiffs, should have to suffer even more for what were only ever the crimes of the Greek oligarchs?
Does...not...compute...

Deviants and thieves, every last damn one of them.

The USA market is in for likely drop of up to 20% and bad times for the next 18 months, accelerated in no small part by the domestic policies of Dear Leader.
Guess what current president occupying the WH will be on the hotseat for that (despite the MSM covering for him)?
Guess which group of people on a certain website we observe for fun will try everything in the book to either ignore the problem, make excuses, or try to sweep it under the rug?
The primitives are as predictable as ever.
Now if enough of the people of the USA are too dumb not to point the finger at the liberals for all this, then Constitutional experiment over, nothing will save the country from that amount of stupidity.

Greece is just another example of a failed socialist agenda state. Of course the DUmmies will blame it on everything else from the EU to climate change to the neighbors goat not giving enough milk for cheese.
-
lol, so Greece doesn't need austerity measures, it needs more government spending? They really are a special kind of f'n stupid.

LOL - When I brought this topic up the other day, my very liberal German Mother commented: "The Greeks are lazy. Italians too." I nearly passed out trying to suppress my laughter.

Yes and countries/entities are just supposed to throw money at them with no strings attached or hope of recovery.

Unfortunately, Obama has at least one, and probably two more shots at screwing up the monetary supply equation, as he has used three or four times already to prop up NYSE and NASDAQ. That is the only reason that the market has maintained an unnatural high in the environment of juicing the monetary policy, which is essentially the same thing as what the ECB did with Greece (and Spain, Italy, Portugal, and other small super-socialist countries) for years.
He will most probably do the last one probably during the time period between the 2016 election and 2017 inauguration, making it a doozie so it will be impossible to prop up again by the next president. If it's Hillary as president, it won't matter and will most probably blame the GOP in congress (along with the press). If a republican is in office, though, it's going to be a major assault on the GOP from all quarters. Only a conservative president along with a conservatively-controlled House and Senate (re: No McConnell, Boehner, nor cronies in leadership) would have any chance at preventing a collapse.

My choir director is a Czech expat. She was telling me that there's a Mercedes plant in Slovokia where the workers make 500 Euros a pay period, and in the same pay period, Greek pensioners make 800 Euros. I don't recall how long said pay period is--maybe a month?--but the Greek pensioners make 60% more a pay period than workers at a Mercedes plant.
Messed up.

No wonder why Greece is so screwed up. They have an early retirement age.

That's why the DUmmies think that Greece is a great country, and the banks are evil for wanting their loans repaid.

They should all move there.
Every single last American lib.
It is almost as close to being a socialist utopia as there has ever been.
I hope they enjoy it while they still can.
-
Why would you believe the Greeks, who obviously can't do even basic math when it comes to figuring out what they want and can actually afford? Oh, that's right, it's because you're just like them.
-
So Greece has been bailed out with OPM twice to the tune of $420 billion and they need another bailout to make an interest payment on the previous bail outs? That is what is going on. Greece has done nothing to curb its spending habits and failed to live up to the contract they agreed to in the previous bailouts. Now they demand more money or they will refuse to take more bailouts.
Perfect dream of the DUchebags at the DUmp.
Sad thing though is the EUcrats are just as big of socialists as the DUches. I will bet that Greece says it will agree to the same conditions that they broke the last two times and the EUcrats will give them their multi-hundred billions and in two years will be right back at the same point. They won't admit that their vision of the perfect socialist Utopia is a failure. It will bankrupt the rest of the EU as Spain, Portugal, and Italy pull the plug on their so called austerity.
You. Know. I'm. Right.

Cloward-Piven doesn`t just have to apply to the US economy tipping over due to an unsustainable welfare state.

I have Glenn Beck to thank for first introducing me to professors Cloward and Piven.
I am not so thankful for the kinder gentler Glenn Beck though.
Speaking of tipping, was it Majors who said Guam would tip over ?

Just prolong the problem and make it worse.

According to an article on Drudge, Merkel and the Germans blinked. Greek debt relief will happen.

I think Ken Burch might be the DU screen name for Paul Krugman.
Seriously they have to spin up bullshit like this to remain in denial that what's happened in Greece will happen here if the Libtards completely establish their Utopia.

Word to the morons. The establishment is now you. Want to be really counter culture then start questioning it. You idiots are jack boot thugs to the establishment now...the useful idiots. A true rebel questioning authority that ypu fashion yourself to be would be doing so of Obama, the SC, the media, and the stupid European liberals. You are no rebel hero dummies.
