Rachel Dolezal's Artwork Is Not Only Problematic, It Might Be Plagiarized (Huffington Post)

2. The fact that this disturbed woman sued Howard University for not being
accepted to the college when she applied as a white person
proves that this woman has serious mental issues. It''s
obvious she is a pathological liar, but her "double" thinking
is not the sign of a balanced person, in my view.
Her inappropriate smiling when she answers questions that
don't seem to warrant it is eerie.

13. If you had read the article, you would have known...
That she did not acknowledge the work of J. M. W. Turner.
"Dolezal's version of the image constitutes the middle panel of a triptych, accompanied by the poetry of her biological brother and published writer Josh Dolezal. She makes no mention of Turner's work".

8. I hope you're having fun your responses have been very revealing.....are you angry that she is a white person that identifies with black culture, emotionally driven or not? Are you angry that she might have some emotional, psychological wounding that we don't know about and that you couldn't possibly understand? She has been chastised enough and what was the reference in this OP to racism? Did I miss something important that you said? Do you feel our apartheid era labeling, black, white, is something we must adhere to be able to continue our american divisiveness?
Yeha... she's a victim.

9. I don't like Dolezal at all.
With that said; artistic "blackface". *epic eyeroll here* So painting subjects that are different from you're skin color/ethnicity/culture is racist now? Bullshit HuffPo (and Priscilla Frank). As an artist/painter myself, I always strive to learn different styles and expand my skill set; part of that comes with discovering new cultures and being inspired by them. This whole "cultural appropriation" gospel is straight up separatist bullshit and I'm SICK OF IT! Art has no defined borders, it's for everyone!
*ahem*
So anyway I do agree that while Dolezal has some impressive skills (I love her use of color and contrast); her stuff it very close to Turner's artwork. It's normal for artists to recreate famous paintings - I did a few in art school myself - but it's not normal to pass it off as an original creation. I surely wouldn't recreate a Dali painting and pass it off as my own just because I used more shading and a wider range of colors than he did.
This is just another layer of deception this woman has heaped onto others. How sad.

11. She's obviously disturbed as well as being a pathological liar.

22. So what, Dolezal lied about her race. She has been a great advocate for the NAACP,and the African American community. Why the media is making such a big deal about this story is beyond me. Hell, what about prominent Blacks who believe that they are white. As an example, Clarence Thomas, Herman Kane, Uncle Rukus, from the tv show" Boondocks", Stacy Dash, Ron Christie, and Alan Keyes just to name a few.

27. Sounds like she's being "Ward Churchilled"
it doesn't pay to undermine the movers and shakers.
yeah... He wasn't Native American either.

It's entertaining to see this wrangling between those defending their Preference System and Victim Nobility Hierarchy using a concept foreign to both, TRUTH, and the pragmatic ends justify the means crowd.

Of course the DUmmie is wrong. She was a student at Howard, she sued because they wouldn't give her a TA job.

1. Apparently, a black citizen holding conservative viewpoints means that person "Believe(s) that they are white." Who knew?
2. Gotta love this DUmmy lumping in Uncle Ruckus, a fictional (Not to mention obnoxious and genuinely racist) character from an asinine and grotesquely overrated TV show based off a slightly less asinine comic strip, in with real people. Can anyone tell me, has 'The Boondocks' finally been cancelled yet?

50 years of Liberals telling everyone how evil white people are and how racist we are has culminated with this little fraud Rachel Dolezal.

Despite others opinions, I am not white......slightly dirty brown or light rust is more like it.....except my ass which might be considered somewhat off whitish. :-)
