I'm not sure how the surveillance law should go.
So I need to rely on my fall back strategy.
If libs like it, I should oppose it.

Works for me.  Apparently all the propaganda about the old law being instrumental in stopping 50 attacks has had the whistle blown on it, and it came out last week that they really can't pin down any planned attack, let alone 50, that was frustrated by the mass data collection.

1. Sad day when the president is compelled to exhibit sniviling cowardice and encourage it in others.

"Home of the brave."
"The only thing we have to fear is ... fear itself."

Not anymore, it appears. Now we live in a country of bed wetters who, apparently, live in a constant state of fear.

Looks like the dump is turning on obumbles. Skins better put the hammer down.

4. There should be a Law that says that proposed bills that Congress considers,

should have to be called the thing that they DO
In this case, the Freedom FROM Freedom Act.

The majority of the elected and appointed government of this country must just think were all as dumb as the Republican Base

Affordable Care Act?   :whistling:

Makes you wonder who's lining his pockets.

The wheels of the dump bus go 'round and 'round...

26. I know, right! I thought that after his last election it would free him up to really try

some good things. I just had it wrong about who the good things would be for.

35. I thought the same thing.

That once free from elections things would be different...and right out of the box he proposed chained CPI and then the TPP...and I knew we had been fooled again.

That wooden horse looked so real I took it in.

9. Screw you Mr. President.

Have you no shame?

You are supposed to be the side of the constitution, the people, and not be fear-mongering in order to allow the surveillance state that started under Bush to grow and morph under your watch.

No, he has no shame. We warned you!!!

29. Now, Americans are guilty until proven innocent. Same way with cops anymore. Every citizen is the

potential enemy, us and them. I do not trust them with the data, there are huge credibility gaps.

Who is president again?

Liberals, what part of 'Big Government' don't you understand ?

Obama is doing what liberals do, growing government large enough to control its citizens from 'cradle to grave'. This is exactly what you voted for - so shut up and enjoy it.

Did you really think that it would be all free stuff, all the time ?

From Obamacare, to the widened dragnet of The Patriot Act - From the takeover of large city police forces, to energy production control... All of it is to keep people attached to DC to survive. Sure, there are a bunch of different innocuous reasons on the labels ( healthcare for all, thwart terrorism, stop racist cops, stop pollution) . The one thing all of these pieces have in common is they incrementally construct an Orwellian style government.

All that's needed is to control communication.. Oh yeah.. So-called Net Neutrality starts that ball rolling, doesn't it ?

Reap what you sow, DUmbasses... reap what you sow.

Anything that involves secret courts, and by extension secret police and secret prosecutors, is a road we don't want to go down.

Advocates for the act claim that the FISA court provides the supervision, but in the real world of the justice system, the courts only review what the prosecutors choose to divulge to them, and the prosecutors only have what the law enforcement agencies involved choose to divulge to them.  The hand-in-glove relationship between enforcement agencies, prosecution, and the court system one sees on teledramas exists only in the most exceptional cases.
