"A New Orleans housing authority police officer was shot and killed while sitting in a marked patrol car Sunday morning."
"Police were called to the scene at 7:10 a.m., and found the officer in his marked patrol car, which had rolled forward and hit a curb."
The officer, 45 years old, has not yet been named. He worked with HANO since 2013. "HANO works to develop affordable housing for low-income New Orleans residents."
Mayor Mitch Landrieu: "Death of HANO police officer is unspeakable tragedy and vile & cowardly act. Thoughts & prayers w/officer's family."
This is indeed a tragedy for this officer, his family & loved ones, the entire community, & our nation. How long has this escalated war on police been going on? & is there any end in site?

#PoliceLivesMatter.

Police and HANO officers should never be required to go into the projects without a backup. However, what do you expect from a dumb democratic mayor who is related to Mary L.
-
The fallen police officer has been identified as James Bennett, Jr.
As yet, there are no updates on the investigation.

Yep. He has the democratic/black vote locked up. Most of the white and black policemen live in the subs outside N.O. The city's reversed the requirements that all police officers live within the city limits. That did not please some of the sprockets on the city council.

What ever happened to "Chocolate City" Mayor Ray "school bus" Nagin ?

According to the last sentence in Wikipedia's article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Nagin), Bus-Drowner Nagin is almost 9 months into a multi-year career of modeling orange jumpsuits on the runways of the FedPen Hotel in Texarkana.
