I wanted to write this out to help those at DU. Most specifically it is designed to help nadin because I fear she is about to vamoose from DU again because of imagined bullies, but it can apply to almost any of the DUmmies.
While DU is essentially a collection of disgusting imbeciles and leeches, DU is not really the problem. If you really want to know what the problem is then I suggest you stop what you’re doing and go look into the mirror. You will see the problem staring back. I think that may have been mentioned before. Possibly by coach. Regardless of whether or not it has been said before, it is true.
I really hate to be the one to break the news to you, but you do not know everything. You are not the smartest person on the planet. You’re probably not even the smartest one on DU which should really be a let down. Most of all, you are not infallible. Yes, I know it’s a shock to you, but you do indeed make mistakes.
The fact that you present yourself as knowing everything about everything is already pretty bad; however, refusing to admit you’ve made a mistake when you’ve clearly made a mistake will really bring the worst out of people.
Let me Bouncy Tale you an example. As far as I know GOBUCKS and I haven’t ever had any problems with each other so I hope he doesn’t mind me using him in this example.
Let’s say that every time I mention GOBUCKS I spell it GoDucks. When he sees how I have it spelled he will probably tell me that I’ve spelled it incorrectly and tell me that the proper spelling is GOBUCKS. At this particular point our online co-existence will be at somewhat of a tipping point. It can go either way based on what I decide to do next. My future is completely in my own hands.
I could fess up and say, “My bad. I made a mistake. I’ll try not to let it happen again.†If I do this GOBUCKS and I will probably co-exist without any problems, and the issue will be put behind us.
I could blame it on auto-correct. That may work if no one else in the world has auto-correct, but even if it does work once, it probably won’t work much more than that.
If, however, I decide to go another route and say “My spelling is correct. You just don’t know how to spell your name. I know these things because I’m a trained spellitarian. I just wish I didn’t know this shit†then GOBUCKS and I are probably going to have problems. Not because of GOBUCKS, but because instead of being normal I decided to double-down on stupidity and arrogance.
Do you see at all where I’m coming from with the above?
Now before you claim I’m blaming the victim let me clarify that my entire point is that you are not a victim. I’ve watched for years as you’ve beat people over the head with your alleged knowledge like it was a club. I’ve seen you double-down on stupid when you’ve been proven to be incorrect. I’ve seen you self-delete posts instead of simply saying that you didn’t know what you were talking about, and the entire time you were shouting “bully, bully, bully" and "iggy list, iggy list, iggy list.†Now you’ve apparently switched to the words cute, adorable, and coffee.
Frankly, I don’t know if you’ve done all that you’ve claimed to have done. I know that I’m older than you and that me and any two other people combined haven’t done all that you’ve claimed to have done, but that doesn’t mean that you haven’t done all of those Walter Mitty like things. On the other hand, I’m pretty sure that you don’t know all that you claim to know. Oh, I’m sure you probably think you do, but I don’t think that anyone in the world really knows all that you think you know. Regardless of what you've done or haven't done or know or don't know, how you present yourself is important.
Personally, I think DU needs you, and I want you to be there for a long, long time. Sadly, you can’t last there or most anyplace else at the rate that you’re going because condescension and arrogance (sometimes know as being a complete and total asshole) may work when you’re running around playing nooz reporter, but in other aspects of life a little bit of humbleness or self-deprecation works much better.
These are just some words of advice, but what do I know? I’m just a lowly fictional spirit-guide, and you’re a world famous nooz reporter. These is one other thing I'd like you to consider before you iggy me away...
1) I present myself as a FICTIONAL spirit-guide
2) I believe I've claimed to have fictionally time traveled
3) I've claimed to have hung out with Blackie the Ghost Chicken and Agent Cabbage of the DUmmie Fear Squad
4) I've claimed to have all sort of fictional spirit-guide knowledge
5) As a fictional spirit-guide I have no smell whatsoever.
6) I've claimed to have taken all sorts of classes at the Fictional Spirit-Guide University (at least I think that's what the name of the institute was but it may have actually had institute in the name).
7) I'm prone to be a smart-ass.
Despite all of the above (and more) I've never been timed-out, banned, or whatever else from here. Do you know why that is? I tend to believe it is because regardless of all my faults everyone knows that I sincerely attempt to avoid being a complete and total asshole. Of course, I admit it could be because the powers that be here just feel sorry for the silly fictional spirit-guide, but for the sake of this particular discussion I'm going with the "avoid being a complete and total asshole" thing.
How many times have you been timed-out, banned, or whatever else from DI or DU? Maybe that's something to think about between squawks on the scanner.

Did you ever notice something peculiar about primitives?
God, or nature, or evolution, or whatever, gave each of them two ears and one mouth.
Normally, people would interpret that to mean one's supposed to listen more than one talks.

I'm actually quite impressed by the latest cousin nadin resurgence.
Her word salads are not much improved, but they seem to be at least temporarily more well received.
She is getting better at being preemptively confrontational.
She seems to be beating bullies to the punch.
But I just wonder how long it can last.

I'm just glad she's back and hope she's able to hang around. If she can make it to November she'll be winning some awards.
I just reread my original post. I noticed some nadinized sentences. Some misspelled words. Some commas gone wild. I need to look into getting me a good rig.

She is convinced that she knows all that she needs to know, and that everything else is just noise. Her approach is to reach a conclusion, and to then vehemently condescend or belittle anyone that produces evidence that her initial conclusion may be incorrect, no matter what.
She has stated again and again that she has a better grasp of the English language than Americans do because she was taught proper English in Mexican schools, and that she refuses to "talk American". Again, she needs to realize that she doesn't know what she thinks she knows. The word "byte" has a different meaning than the word "bite", nadin. Same with "worst" and "worse". English speaking people don't usually say "you welcome", we say "you're welcome" or even "you are welcome".
If she were to practice a little humility and accept the fact that she has a lot yet to learn, she might actually accomplish something. She certainly has ambition and drive, but IMO she is far too thin-skinned, hard-headed and mean-spirited to capitalize on it.
