Small personal good news....
Received SSDI approval, did not even realize what a weight that was until after it was lifted.
Now on to next project-requesting information, knowledge, and suggestions for 55 year old returning college student. The way I messed up in college, if you can imagination a way to do it wrong I probably did it, is the largest repairable(?) mistake in my life.
The loose plan is to start with 1 or2 online courses. Financing, studying, and working around disable are all areas I could use as much wisdom as possible. Additional if there's anything I should beware of, but might not know, please be free to point it out.
Thank you for your time reading this
Why the **** is this DUmmie getting SSDI and going to school? Unreal.

Buzzy. Come over here and defend this crap.

I was wondering why, when I got up this AM, I felt a little more weight on my back.
Is this person's disability real? Or mental (intentional double meaning)?
-
If the DUmmy gets grants to pay for his education, this could be considered as imputed income. There are severe restrictions on earnings while collecting SSDI.

In other words, the DUmmy wants tips on scamming the system.

WHAT THE ****?!!! You are too disabled to work but not too disabled to be a student? This is BS. Someone needs to rat your lazy ass out.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) has no prohibition restricting a person who is receiving Social Security disability insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits from taking classes, full or part time.
However, your case is reviewed by the SSA from time to time to see if your condition has improved, and going to school full time could reflect on whether you are still totally disabled, especially if you were approved for disability benefits on the basis of a mental impairment (such as depression, bipolar disorder, or a cognitive deficit). If this is the case, you may find it best not to broadcast the fact that you're going to school full time when your case is re-evaluated at a continuing disability review, or CDR.
A disability examiner reviewing the case might leap to the conclusion that the recipient no longer meets the definition of disability. Of course, this may not be true at all, especially in the case of a mental impairment that becomes exacerbated and then improves. For the individual who is mentally impaired, this fluctuation is often a response to environmental stressors. Having to conform to the day-in, day-out requirements of substantial gainful employment can certainly expose an individual to such stress demands. By contrast, the requirements of attending school are usually not nearly so demanding or stressful.
Oh Dear Gawd. They have a lock on it. There's even this website. http://www.disabilitysecrets.com/get-disability-and-go-to-school.html
notice the name?
Ohhh
My understanding is that there is no prohibition restricting a person on SSDI from going to school but if SS finds out, it could trigger a CDR and if it can be determined that the effort required to be a full time student would be the same as some job that you could do for example and earn SGA from, you could lose benefits.

want to get mad read this and the other posts
http://www.mdjunction.com/forums/bipolar-and-working-discussions/general-support/3542470-cant-handle-work-full-time
I applied for ssi disability as of Decemeber of last year. I want to work, but I can't funtion. Even at just 20 hours a week. My job isn't hard, just takes some thought from time to time. It's with a military base, so it's got it's weird aspects to the job but overall, I should be able to handle it. No one gets why I can't work full time. I just can't do it.
It's not like I want to be relying on the governemnt or others to take care of me, it's that I Mentally can't do it everyday.

At 55 years old she is still trying to figure out what she want's to do with her life. :whatever:
I suspect that being a professional leech will be to her liking.

Hence the DUmmy only taking 1 or 2 classes online.

At least in the USSR everybody worked. Even if it was watching an escalator. I went to a huge store there in 87 and there was no food. The meager daily quantity had been taken by the people that stood in line at 4:00AM. BUUUUUUUT the clerks and other workers were still there cleaning or some other make work. Those old sovs put there mandated time in. Here in USSA no need of work. This like winding a clock up until the spring breaks. Have food and ammo for weeks, months and do not live in a city.
