oy, I did find finally the data on lead surveillance in my county

the Zip Codes at higher risk are, as suspected, the poorer zip codes in the county. This does not surprise me in the least, but... though they also have the data on how many children are under surveillance. I have no real specifics to each kid, but that I do not expect... HIPPA after all.

Why this matters? Lead is a serious issue that causes mental retardation at high doses, but has a slew of problems associated with it, even at the current alarm level of 5 micrograms\deciliter. This new level dropped from 10 to 5 in 2012.

Most of these kids live in homes that have things like chipping paint. This should be a news item for the larger networks in the afternoon and evening news, but we have car crashes to pursue.

Next step, finding a pediatrician who is willing to talk at Children's

 :thatsright:

nadin stumbles into another issue that has been known about since at least the 1970s. Good thing the midget Mex-Russian JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Cup Reporter is on the case!

:stoner: :banghead: Law enforcement lack time, $$, and resources to mass-surveil law-abiding people unsuspected of illegal activities. So if "children" - probably mostly teens, not 5YOs-10YOs - are being surveiled in poorer communities, it's likely because they are junior members of criminal gangs.

Lead-based paint was banned by the CPSC in 1976, affirmed by the USSC in 1978. It was probably disappearing from the market before then, because when companies know a reg is coming they start working on compliance before the reg is issued. IOW, nads has leaped on a non-discovery that has been decreasing in significance for some four decades.

Nads will probably try to parlay the 'discovery' into some sort of award.

'Course, we've got one for her . . . :whistling:

When lead-based paint was removed from the market here in the early- to mid-70s, millions of gallons of inventory was shipped to mexico.

Just about time for nutcase nadin's childhood, hmm?

Another interesting coincidence - in addition to diminished intelligence, lead poisoning in children results in stunted growth.

Does lead paint explain why Africa is such a powerhouse?

Does lead paint explain why leftist cities such as Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco thrive but leftist cities like Baltimore, Detroit, and Philadelphia are shitholes?

Just asking for a friend.

Talk at Children's what?

Come on nads, even an nadinese expert can't translate if you don't even complete the word salad.

The prepositional clause was misplaced. It should have been after "finding a physician" and before "who will talk". I would believe that it is in reference to a children's hospital...
