9. He would represent real change but would have the entire establishment
arrayed against him. Tough tight race. 50/50 chance of winning. Or he could get slaughtered. By the way I think Hillary also would either win a close race or get slaughtered.

20. Bernie is a populist that sticks to his message.
People are tired of Republican ideas and desperate for the ideas that Bernie is pushing.
It will depend on if people actually care to vote.

I suspect he'll be a fine debater, but I'll be watching to see how he presents himself.

28. It depends on how many Democrats don't vote for him in the general...
for whatever reasons.
And considering the division within the Republican Party, I could see Bernie appealing to a lot of "Reagan Democrat" types and also some Republicans.
I would say his chances are good but that he will have to overcome the "old socialist" label. He's a wise old coot with the right ideas to fix this country.
Bernie Sanders is a Socialist and he makes no bones about that.
He'd at least be the first Dem candidate in a long time to be honest from the start about his political beliefs.
I could see Bernie appealing to a lot of "Reagan Democrat" types and also some Republicans.
 :thatsright:
Yup. The same people who voted for Reagan, the guy who brought down the USSR, would now vote for a socialist.
Why do the DUmmies confuse "populist" with "communist"?
1. Because they are DUmmies.
2. Because they feeeel that communism is popular, so communists must be populists.
3. Both words end with "ist." :whistling:
I seriously doubt Bernie will make it through 5 primaries before he pulls out. I just don't believe that there are as many full bore leftists as DU thinks.I do not think he will get that far before he Vince Foster's himself.

1. The Democratic base will come out and vote for our candidate, whoever it is. What's different ...
... about Bernie's candidacy is that he will inspire millions of those who normally stay home to show up at the polls.

4. I agree that Bernie will inspire more people to go to the polls.
Also, I think there are more disenchanted Republicans than we can guess and Bernie has a chance to get their votes, also, if he asks for them. If people vote the issues instead of their Party, Bernie can win.

The DUmmies think Bernie will inspire legions of new voters.

At Bernies age would he even live long enough to see inauguration day?WeekendInauguration at Bernies part III.
Yup. The same people who voted for Reagan, the guy who brought down the USSR, would now vote for a socialist.
Bernie's like a lot of Dem candidates over the years--an old, white male.
He won't inspire any new voters. He'll turn a lot of the Obama coalition off.
Can we get the graphics department busy on this? I have to go to a wake. :( (really)

Where are they coming up with this stuff? :mental:
The problem with lib thinking is, it's hard to tell if they believe it, or just think they can sell it.
Many times owebuma explained away the resistance to owebumacare with the excuse that he didn't do a good enough job at selling it.
So many times it just comes down to Grubering people into compliance.
But seriously, the more people know about socialism the less they like it.
Socialism has failed everywhere and every time it has ever been tried.
Well, there's that. He is at least the only honest person in their entire caucus.
Yep, and wow, it's a sad commentary on the Dem field. I've always appreciated honest politicians, including those whose views are diametrically opposed to mine. Sanders and Kucinich are the only two I can call to mind. And both are suspect, by virtue of being Dems, or near enough as to make no never mind.
