Charity watchdog: Clinton Foundation a ‘slush fund’

Charity Navigator put the foundation on its “watch list,” which warns potential donors about investing in problematic charities. The 23 charities on the list include the Rev. Al Sharpton’s troubled National Action Network, which is cited for failing to pay payroll taxes for several years.

On its 2013 tax forms, the most recent available, the foundation claimed it spent $30 million on payroll and employee benefits; $8.7 million in rent and office expenses; $9.2 million on “conferences, conventions and meetings”; $8 million on fund-raising; and nearly $8.5 million on travel. None of the Clintons are on the payroll, but they do enjoy first-class flights paid for by the Foundation.

“It seems like the Clinton Foundation operates as a slush fund for the Clintons,” said Bill Allison, a senior fellow at the Sunlight Foundation, a government watchdog group once run by leading progressive Democrat and Fordham Law professor Zephyr Teachout.

Not news to conservatives.
Not news to progs either but in their case they will bitterly and dishonestly deny any such allegations.

The Clinton foundation is nothing more than a tax avoidance scheme to enrich the Clintons.

Campaign fund is what I think it is.  Of course Hillary might just use that money that came up missing from the State Department during her tenure.

Exactly.  Hillary has proclaimed that she will spend $2Billion dollars on her campaign. I am quite dumbfounded that they seemingly have absolutely no conscious as to what their corruption has done and will do to millions of people.  Buying uranium with dirty money and selling it to Putin to make more money, who in turn will sell it to Iran for their "nuke program" is unfathomable. Not only does it put this country at risk, but puts the world at risk.  Perhaps Hillary thinks she will become Queen Hillary?  I don't know.  Does she think she is above being used and exploited?  She can't possibly feel that she can trust the Ayatollah can she?

Flying first class is too second class for Hitlery.
She wants Air Force ! back badly.
You think she treats the secret service bad, you have no idea how poorly she treats the Air Force personnel assigned to AF1.

From the NYP article:

Quote
The Clinton family’s mega-charity took in more than $140 million in grants and pledges in 2013 but spent just $9 million on direct aid.
...
In all, the group reported $84.6 million in “functional expenses” on its 2013 tax return and had more than $64 million left over — money the organization has said represents pledges rather than actual cash on hand.

So, the Clinton Foundation spent/disbursed $84.6M in 2013, only $9M of which was "direct aid". Less than 10% of the monies dispursed were "direct aid". Even if all the $8.5M for travel were solely for aid workers that would be ~20% of Foundation monies spent going to actual charity purposes.

The Foundation appears to be a slush fund for cronies and maybe a shelter for Hillary 2016 core campaign staff.

Well, that's one way to make money, use it for your enjoyment and benefit without paying income taxes on it.
