Has DU been hacked?
How else to explain the large banner ads by the NRA "Win a free duffle bag by joining!" or Ron Paul "Find out his plan for America"????????
I had mistakenly logged out, but before I logged back in, the banner ads flashed before my astonished eyes. April Fools Day has passed has it not?
Skinner? EarlG? Elad?
Like when someone posted, all your senate belongs to us? :fuelfire:

Damn the hatchet job.....use an axe next time.

Dummies there is a program...a free program called...ad block you can get to stop the banner ads. I have it on the three different browsers I use.
I suggest you check with who ever runs the computer lab at the Public Library next time you log on to see if they can install it for you.

I'm going to guess FTC checked out several news stories or opinion articles or DU threads about the NRA (or guns) and Ron (or Rand) Paul's ideas. Google (and other advertising services) knows. And DU's manglement let Google, etc., in.
Do a few searches about running shoes or vacuum cleaners or lingerie and watch what happens to the banner ads you get to see/ignore.

Google 'bullet bra' five times in a row.
Your Internet experience will never be the same.

Those banner ads are just like taxes DUmmy, the price you pay to lie on a civilized bulletin board. Skimmer needs to feed the bulldog, Clinton cash only goes so far in DC even for a corrupt DLC operative. :hammer:
Suck it up cupcake or gouge out your eyes. :whistling:

:rotf: and an H-5!
I hadn't given how banner ads are selected much thought until a couple years ago when I did searches for refrigerators for a kitchen remodel and replacement computer power supplies. Saw ads for those things for months.

I guess that explains why I begin seeing so many ads for septic tank products after doing a search concerning democratunderground.

I was hoping DU was just sacked.
