Marco Rubio-Jeb Bush alliance sours in GOP primary faceoff
NASHUA, N.H. (AP) — Ties between Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, political allies for more than a decade, are fraying as the Republican presidential campaign picks up.
In public, mentor Bush and protege Rubio have avoided criticizing each other since Rubio announced his candidacy.
But Bush allies have started quietly spreading negative information about Rubio's record. Also, supporters of the two Miami politicians are drawing contrasts between Rubio, a 43-year-old son of Cuban immigrants, and 62-year-old Bush, a member of one of the nation's most powerful political dynasties.
"Sparks are going to fly," said Al Cardenas, a Bush adviser who is also close to Rubio. "For the first time in our country's history you've got two guys from the same town in the same state from same party running in the same primary."
He added: "You can bet that regardless of how nice Jeb or Marco wants to be, their staffs are going to do anything they can to win."
more at link...but its sure to get nasty from here on out.
at stake is the donor list for the RINO establishment.
-
With RINO friends, who needs enemies ?
-
If it came down to just those two, Rubio wins hands down with me.

Rubio is all about amnesty and he just supported executive amnesty.
If it is him or Jeb...I'm sitting out the vote.

Hillary will do the same. So, pick your poison. She would be 10 times worse than any Repub. Between those supporting legalization of drugs, prostitution, queer marriage and criminals crossing our borders, I believe our morals are heading down a rat hole . Plus the tax and spend Congress including many Repubs are not far behind.

Agreed. The time to support the best candidate for ME (and I like Walker as it stands right now) is during the primary. After all the money has greased palms and the GOP elite class has shoved yet another RINO down our throats, the only thing to do is grit teeth, pull the handle for Rubio (**** Jeb -- that asshole is neither a conservative nor a Republican -- he's a f'n liberal) and watch the country go down the shitter in exactly the way Lacarnut describes. It's inevitable. It's going to happen. The ****ing politicians can't stop spending money, they can't stop raising funds for themselves and their next election, and they can't stop raping the taxpaying voter with cattle prods -- GOP and Dem alike are so full of shit their eyes are brown.

I hear what everyone is saying. For one, I am not as confident as most of you that we are going to have to chose between a RINO and a RINO. Let' them attack the crap out of each other till neither of them seem appealing. We have one really good Constitutional Conservative running; Ted Cruz. I'm still waiting for Perry, Walker, and Jindal to make their announcement. Rand isn't bad, but his stance on foreign policy scares me.
Perhaps I'm seeing things differently, but I'm not so sure that Clinton will get the nomination and I really don't see that America wants another Bush. I think the era of the Bush/Clinton dynasty is over.
If it does happen to come down to voting for either Bush or Rubio, I refuse. I will NOT be forced to vote for a candidate that I don't believe in. 3rd party anyone??

Money talks. Jeb or fat boy will have the big money. The Rockefeller Rinos will see to that.
FYI, Jindal has got the state of LA in a deep hole with his voodoo economic policies. Perry does not have a prayer. Walker is our best hope but I am afraid he will run out of money like what happened to Newt in Florida.
The way I see it ....staying home or voting for a 3rd party is a big plus for the Democratic candidate/ Hitlery.

^^^This.
It's not optimal, it's not something I like, and it ultimately leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I have to hold my nose and pull the handle for yet another RINO.
It's simple reality.
When the primaries are over and the GOP candidate has been crowned, as much as it galls me to say it, it's time to get behind that candidate, RINO that he will probably be.
Anything else spells a victory for the Democrats.
In short, this country is ****ed.

Very true. Being a one or two issue voter insures that a Democrat will be elected. Voting for a Rino Prez. leaves a nasty taste in this right winger's mouth but the alternative is much, much worse from a political standpoint.

Imagine IF everyone who was disgruntled and didn't want to vote for a RINO and instead voted 3rd party .... that candidate could very possibly win. That is the problem. People have been brainwashed and lead to believe that voting for a 3rd party candidate or writing in a candidate is a wasted vote so they either stay home or vote for someone who they don't want to vote for ...that is the wasted vote. Everyone needs to vote who they think is the best candidate. NOT who they are forced to believe they have to vote for.

It's almost a certain guarantee that one or more of the Supreme Court justices will step down during the next presidency. Unless of course the liberals force them out before Obama's term is up.

A 3rd party candidate chances of garnering enough electoral votes to win in the general election is 100 million to one. Forcing a runoff in the House of Rep. is not so hot either.
Palin is not going to run and Paul is very doubtful. If he does run, McConnell will see to it that his only committee assignment is picking up crap that Obama's dog left on the W.H. lawn.
After reading your fairy tale opinion, who do you think would be a good 3rd party candidate????????????????????

The time to be dogmatic is during the primaries. After that process is complete and the nominee has been determined, you vote for the nominee. I happen to think that the GOP is going to put up yet another RINO (and thus doom itself to failure once again), but I could be wrong.
But that won't stop me from voting my conscience. I'll vote for the best candidate, but that candidate won't be perfect -- not by a mile.
Failure to vote, or just throwing away your vote because you just want to "make a statement" just hands the election to the bad guy.
That's the 2-party system we're cursed with. Until such time as there is a viable party that has a reasonable chance for winning the election, fugeddaboudit.

Not really a fairy tale, but you're entitled to your opinion. You will never convince me that I shouldn't vote my conscious. As of this point in time, I don't need to consider a 3rd party candidate. I am a very strong supporter of Ted Cruz. I firmly believe (provided this country makes it to another election) that he will be the GOP nominee.

So, why bring up the issue of a 3rd party candidate. Money talks and bull-shit walks. Jeb has the big donors and in all likelihood will be the nominee. BTW, the reality is that a RINO is a much better choice than Hitlery or any other Democrat. In my opinion, the chances of a 3rd party candidate winning the Presidency is a fairy tale.
I like Walker but am not a strong supporter of any candidate. They tell you what you want to hear (lie), and then do what is expedient along with feathering their own nest financially.
-
I'm not convinced that Walker is Conservative enough for me. He does get high marks for staving off multiple liberal attacks.

Me neither. Out of all of the potential candidates, Palin is the only one that excites me. She would give her opponent tit for tat while the others would just lay down. I think we need a fighter that would go after Hillary or her opponent with a vengeance.

Yeah it is a fairy tale in reality.
Ok so lets say we get a third party candidate elected that pisses off both Dem and Republican.
How does he/she then get ANY legislation passed...agreements or treaties ratified or either party to buy into his or her Foreign or Domestic agenda?

I like Palin, but the MSM has dragged her and her family through the mud. Secondly I don't think she's running. I agree though, I believe she would give Hillary a run for her money, but I'm not so sure she could beat her. Clinton would be the most destructive person to this country.
These are very critical times. We need to consider who would bring about restoring this country rather than continuing it on the path of destruction and transformation. Quite frankly, I don't think either Rubio or Bush would bring about the restoration that is much needed. I see Bush continuing the transformation and Rubio caving to the Dems.
The one candidate that would restore this country is Ted Cruz. Perhaps Scott Walker. Maybe Perry or Paul.

Not a lot of Paulbots around here.

Rightfully so, that is why I stated Paul as a "maybe". I am a huge fan of his father's (except for his foreign policy stance); but Rand has flip-flopped on several key issues which doesn't bode well for his integrity and sincerity. I have never known his father to deviate on an issue and certainly not a Constitutional issue. I don't see Paul getting the GOP nomination, but certainly he would be better than Hillary.

I've never really understood the hype surrounding either Paul.

Well, for starters Ron Paul is known as the "Champion of the Constitution" and one would be very hard pressed to find in his political career where he has deviated from the Constitution or his principles. His economic views and predictions have been criticized only to "bite" his critics later on in finding out that he was spot on. Several MSM critics have later sought him out in the past to get his opinion on the current economic situation and what he feels needs to be done. He is the only Congressman that I know of that actually returned surplus money back to the government. He has believed in auditing the Feds and abolishing the IRS for quite some time. He further believes that we should go back to the gold standard rather than remain on the existing fiat currency.
Secondly, because of his strong adherence to the Constitution and with his strong message of liberty; the Tea Party emerged from what was the "Ron Paul Revolution". His book "The Revolution A Manifesto" is very, very interesting and what he had been warning others about for so long has turned out to be quite accurate.
Take a moment and listen to one of his speeches. I have always come away from listening to one of his speeches in awe and with an increased respect for liberty and this country as well as for Dr. Ron Paul himself.
I was very hopeful when Rand got into the political arena. Unfortunately, he has compromised his integrity by deviating on his principles. However, that seems to be what the MSM has been reporting and I haven't actually researched those issues.
-
I'm going to let some other cavers address this in depth.
But right off the bat superficially, the gold standard and foreign policy stances by Paul are irrational.
