Anger after toddlers made to wear yellow stars to mark Holocaust

An Israeli nursery school teacher has been suspended after making toddlers as young as three wear yellow Star of David patches to commemorate the Holocaust.

Parents voiced outrage after seeing their children leaving the kindergarten in Rishon Letzion on Holocaust remembrance day wearing patches emblazoned with the word Jude (Jew), similar to those that the Nazis forced Jews to wear during the Second World War.

"Shocked, completely stunned, find it hard to speak, refuse to understand…this is how my three-year-old daughter returned from the day care centre today," one mother wrote on Facebook after posting a picture of her child wearing the emblem.

"I don't remember if and how I was taught in nursery school about Holocaust remembrance day, we all know and respect its importance, but the message was conveyed to the toddlers today in an appalling, unacceptable way. In a child's world, when they put a sticker or symbol on him, it is seen as a prize for good behaviour, which is very different from the meaning of this symbol, which carries a very heavy burden, too heavy for small children."

So... in order to remember the 6 million jews murdered by the NAZIs in WW2 they wore yellow Star of David patches similar to the ones worn by those people so murdered? ANd people are angry? Why is this an outrage then?

2. It is in poor taste, probably not done maliciously, but poor taste nonetheless...

The whole holocaust was in poor taste. The Israeli un-official motto is "Never Again". Remembering the horror of those days is what keeps Israel from falling into destruction. Again, I don't know why people would be upset about this.

3. at what age does one discuss the holocaust w the kids?

My 7 year old nephew saw a kid in class do a presentation and was all freaked out and asking my sis if his Jewish friends families could stay in their attic "if it happens here" (Chicago).  I gave my 6 year old a very brief overview when she asked who Hitler was. Mistake. An hour later I heard her upstairs yell to her sister " Way to go, Batman, we saved the Jews!"

I got no doubt you ****ed the history up.

While Holocaust studies are a core part of the Israeli school curriculum, there has been controversy over the age at which children should be exposed to the horrors of the Nazis' murder of six million Jews.

I don't have any doubt it was Israeli moonbats that threw the fit- and Israeli Muslims for that matter.

This comes close to my take on this. There was no malice, but 3YOs are to busy grappling with ideas like toilet training and learning what can be touched or said aloud to grapple with the enormity of racial hatred, let alone genocide.

Have any DU Holocaust denier-minimizers or Zionist-Conspiracy theorist anti-Semites oozed out from under their rocks yet?

I don't like it when pols use kids to advance an agenda especially if there's no way the kid can know any better.
It's inappropriate.

Anger after toddlers made to wear yellow stars to mark Holocaust

It may be one of the points negotiated by John F'n Kerry with the Iranians.

The jug-eared Kenyan in the White House would have no problem with it.

Which reminds me.

Isn't "White House" kind of racist?

Shouldn't it be renamed? And painted?

During owebuma's first campaign one of his rapper supporters threatened to do just that.
