I just did something evil. IDEA for getting the GOP to approve Loretta Lynch at LIGHTSPEED.

Consider: who do the CONS hate almost as much as President Obama? Answer: Eric Holder! They'd LOVE to get rid of him. But they're holding off on "principle" or some such rot.

Weeellllllllll... what if word got around that Eric Holder was going to start a war crimes investigation against bush/cheney?

I bet they'd approve a ham sandwich to head up the Justice Department in that case! I bet they'd drop everything and break all land speed records to rush to vote to approve Loretta Lynch!

After all, they ARE stuck with the "hated" Eric Holder until his replacement is seated.

Even if this subject was merely brought up, I bet that'd make their sphincters tighten up so bad that they wouldn't be able to pass anything for a month!

Call your reps! Start spreading it! Even just the very IDEA of it oughta scare some of those schmucks!

Whaddya think? File it under the "... just sayin'...."

That is just brillant. Wow.  :whatever:

They know Obama nominated her, that means she is the very best qualified out of everyone in the US for the job, :hammer:

She's black and a woman so that makes her uniquely qualified and anyone who doesnt vote to confirm her is a racist and a mysoginist. [/DUmmy rant]

Not really, he could walk away from it tomorrow, and one of the senior deputies would take over as acting AG.  DOJ doesn't shut down just because the office is temporarily vacant.

Qualifications schmalifcations. She is black and a woman. The only thing that could make her more qualified would be she were a lesbian or muslim. Which I would not be surprised to her that she is both.

If this rumor is pushed, it would not last long.  BHO et al.Would have to put up or shut up.  The Congresional response might be to start impeachment for General Holder.  There is plenty to investigate and discuss.  It might last 18 months.  Would be something for the news besides the election.

Harry Reid not rushing to confirm Loretta Lynch
The Senate majority leader is in no hurry to begin the confirmation process.
By BURGESS EVERETT 11/18/14 3:12 PM EDT
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is in no hurry to begin the confirmation process of attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch.
Asked by reporters if he will seek to approve Lynch during the lame duck, Reid replied “no” — meaning current Attorney General Eric Holder will have to stay on through part of the winter to see his successor confirmed.
“My personal feeling is that the White House, through intermediaries with me, have said ‘don’t be pushing that.’ We can do it after the first of the year,” Reid said.

Now Lynch is poised to become the first test for whether Republicans will continue to process President Barack Obama’s nominations when they take the majority in January. And not acting now decouples Lynch from some of the controversy over Obama’s impending executive action on immigration; instead conservatives will focus their fight on attacking that action through government funding bills.

It looks like the worthless asshole could've got her confirmed if he had wanted to but he didn't because he didn't want her tainted with Barry's unconstitutional immigration shenanigans.  His choice

They're doing their jobs for once. I'd love to see Eric Holder do that! And include everyone in the Democrat party who voted for it.

The Congresscritters have already de-nutted themselves on any wrong doing by this administration.  No impeachment and no shut down regardless of what is done.

You are correct there is plenty to investigate and discuss.

But leadership of the GOP on Capitol Hill will never ever do it.

Nah...just explaining how obviously-wrong they are from the view of sane people, for the educational benefit of our mentally-impaired Democrat lurkers, who can't think things through for themselves, or even wipe their own asses without a gubmint check to buy environmentally-safe hypoallergenic organic shitpaper.

Here's a little blast from the past.   A democrat underground thread from November of 2014--back when Dingy Harry was still the Senate Majority Leader.

Cruz, Lee Already Prepping To Delay AG Nominee Over 'Executive Amnesty'

ByCaitlin MacNeal
Published November 9, 2014, 1:38 PM EST

The same day that President Obama nominated Loretta Lynch to be the next attorney general, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) signaled that it won't be an easy process.

"President Obama’s Attorney General nominee deserves fair and full consideration of the United States Senate, which is precisely why she should not be confirmed in the lame duck session of Congress by senators who just lost their seats and are no longer accountable to the voters," the senators said in a Saturday statement.

Multiple Republican senators have already expressed the same view that the Senate should wait to confirm the attorney general until the newly-elected senators take office in January.

But Cruz and Lee also said they would question Lynch over immigration.

"The Attorney General is the President's chief law enforcement officer. As such, the nominee must demonstrate full and complete commitment to the law. Loretta Lynch deserves the opportunity to demonstrate those qualities, beginning with a statement whether or not she believes the President’s executive amnesty plans are constitutional and legal," they said in the statement.

Admittedly senators Cruz and Lee were against her confirmation but what was stopping Dingy Harry from starting the confirmation process?  He was the Majority leader.

6. They can't delay the nomination.

Filibusters are not allowed for Presidential appointments. So Reid could schedule a vote Monday morning if he wanted. If the nomination gets delayed it will be all on Reid, he controls it.

7. That is the bottom line.

Harry it's on your desk what are you going to do.
Harry has a ton of splaining to do,lost Nevada, his own church member in California is dissing him. My take,he will capitulate and we won't have a AG. BTW,remember the Bundy farce, still has to be taken care of and it's up to the AG to get this done. Don't just love all this intrigue,Lee,Cruz,Hatch, and the BLM. Law suites thousand dollar suits.

 :ownit:

Democrats had their chance to get her in without a hitch and they blew it.   They are going to have to own this one.  I'm with former9thward and Wellstone ruled on this one--it's all Dingy Harry's fault.  Harry has a ton of splaining to do, right  Wellstone ruled?

Control of docketing, which is the Senate Majority Leader's prerogative, is a much better tool than the filibuster...as long as the Majority Leader is willing to be ruthless in using it.

Unfortunately, McConnell and Boehner are acting like republicans lost the last election and are the minority party now.  They both act like conservatives are their enemies and democrats are their allies.

It's unbelievable Boner and Mc****ell can't figure out the mandate the American people have furnished them in the 2 last mid term elections. They're too busy attacking true conservatives who won't tow the line of big government spending. The powers that be in the Repiubican party care more about the power they wield than the American people and the principals the country was founded on. Makes me want to upchuck!

I agree with Levin we need a convention of the states in order to enact term limits. That would stop these power hungry pricks from getting entrenched in DC and stop them from spending more time raising money for their re-elections than they do governing for the people who elect them. I believe I read they spend more than 80% of their time at fund fund raisers than they do anything else.
