Walter Scott's family have asked Al Sharpton not to attend the funeral, it is claimed.

According to the New York Daily News, the family told Rev Sharpton to 'keep away' from the relatives-only memorial service.

A source close to the Scotts told the paper: 'We don’t want another Ferguson type of circus here.'

Responding to the allegations that he has been barred from the service, Sharpton told the paper that he 'would never come unless they asked', adding that he is 'willing to be helpful to the family but only when needed.

Ya know, I think this would be a good thing for the Patriot Guard Riders to support. The family has asked Sharpton not to show up and make a political stink of a funeral. Sounds right up their alley. You got any way to make that happen Big Dog?

Nice to see the family eschewing at least some of the most egregious race-baiters. Too bad they can't do anything about the national-level MSM trying to blow this obviously local story into some sort of national cause celebre!
