California deputies appeared to use a Taser to stun a man and then beat him after he allegedly led police on a pursuit involving a vehicle and stolen horse in San Bernardino County Thursday afternoon.
Aerial footage captured by NewsChopper4 showed the man falling off the horse, and then being stunned with a Taser by a sheriff's deputy. The man then appeared to fall to the ground with his arms outstretched. Two deputies immediately descended on him and began punching him in the head and kneeing him in the groin.

6. I hardly will post all that I produce quite simple, some of that material is not fit for this site.
But we have a lot already at reportingsandiego.com
We have been doing a lot of work on race relations (which is not fit for GD, but some has been posted at the AA area of this site). We have done far more on energy and high level policy than most people care to read. I discovered while lurking that none of that material is truly wanted, even when tightly sourced.
And now, have to go back to do some hard research.

5. Those police procedurals are just great that is the way it is supposed to work. Makes you wonder how many times it is not, but there was no camera present

7. Slight update on this story
We have a name.
The man, identified as Francis Jared Pusok, 30, of Apple Valley, was hospitalized with unknown injuries, authorities said.
And while he has a colorful history with law enforcement...
The series of events started when deputies from the Victor Valley station went to a home on Zuni Road to serve a search warrant in an identity theft investigation, authorities said in a news release.
The suspect took off in a vehicle and deputies initiated a pursuit through unincorporated Apple Valley, the town of Apple Valley and unincorporated Hesperia. The area is more than 80 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles.

here is what the officers did, according to local NBC station, "37 punches, 17 hits, 13 to the head, and 4 baton hits." Transcribing.
Now the head, the groin and the shoulder areas are considered red zones, aka no hit. Why? They can kill. This is part of the general certificate officers receive while training at any POST certified police academy. They are trained not to do this. It happens to be that the San Bernardino County Sheriffs is a POST certified academy. And these are the certs in the state.
Now I will repeat myself... after a small discussion over at FB... whether this guy had a history of resisting arrest, check, some criminal history, check, or was wanted on an arrest warrant, check. What we all saw this afternoon was classic contempt of cop. What the officers did was not justified. Nor do we know how how severe the injuries Jared Pusok sustained (my guesstimate is they are). He did lay there for 45 minutes not moving, and with no medical attention.
There were three deputy injuries, two for dehydration and... and the horsey did not like them and one deputy suffered an injury due to the horse. I will note this, none of the injuries were sustained during contact with the suspect.
My own view is that after this beating... the DA will try to negotiate a we don't charge you if you don't sue us. If Mr. Pusok should die, and now we know he is a minority from the photo posted at the NBC local station site, then we will see what charges, if any, are filed. Oh and the ACLU is not amused either.
She really can't help herself.

They don't take to horse thievery in San Bernadino County.

"Now the head, the groin and the shoulder areas are considered red zones, aka no hit. Why? They can kill. "
A hit to the groin could be considered potentially fatal?
Forgive my ignorance, I haven't had any kind of medical training, but I was under the impression that the only time a blow to the crotch has been fatal was in this Mortal Kombat fatality:

More gNibberish.
She doesn't realize it, but gNads just justified George Zimmerman and Darren Wilson. Each man was punched in the head, so gNads just asserted that the poor misunderstood street saints used lethal force against them.

You bet. Try to kick me in the balls, and never see another sunrise.

* Criminal record? Check!
* Record known to police? Check!
* Police contacting him on valid official business? Check!
* Suspect attempted to flee? Check!
* Fled multiple times by multiple means? Check!
* Resisted arrest? Check!
* Continued resisting after being tased? Check!
However much morons and moronettes - I assume nads is one of the latter as to gender - think it unfair, LEOs are going to do what it takes to subdue and apprehend a dangerous person like this. It's not a cops-and-robbers game - o un juego de policia-y-bandidos - in which it's fair for the robbers to be able to get away.
Fleeing and persisting in resisting arrest usually doesn't end well for the one fleeing and resisting. Works for me.

Nadin does indeed put a lot of comments in separate posts for "posting without comment".
She could take lessons from OS, who posts without comment, and then watches the post sink with no comments from others.

He got off easy compared to how we handle horse thieves down here in TX.

I guess that technically a hit anywhere could potentially be fatal; however, I don't think a hit to groin causing a fatality is common or I would have died in 1980. It will turn your "shifter" and both "bearings" deep purple/black and cause you to walk like a cowboy.

Everyone is always commenting on nadin, but she's a good reporter. This is not something that I know because I'm a fictional spirit-guide. This is something that I know because she said so, and she should know because she knows almost everything else.

4. I wish I was as certain about jail time
as you are.
Been writing a lot on police issues.
I can even say I am a good reporter. We are definitely not in my local Chief's Christmas list. We ask tough questions.

Would bull-shit dressing be appropriate for her word salads?
