Aesop's Fables, the story of the Fox and the grapes.

The thing about donations through sites like gofundme...
...the recipients are simply defunding some other thing that a person who already supports them would give money to.
A "godly" pizza place gets a million dollars on gofundme? Since only "godly" people are donating, that's a million dollars that isn't going to other "godly" recipients...like "godly" candidates for public office.
And it does work both ways. Every dollar given to a single liberal gofundme recipient shorts other possible recipients of that money.
I'm definitely not trying to discourage people from donating to worthy causes, but using sites like gofundme to make a political or philosophical or religious point is counterproductive.
Gofundme (and similar sites) would probably disagree. They get a cut of every donation, further diminishing the real effect.
As long as liberals get free stuff its OK, but the moment the site funds an opposing viewpoint...its BAD!

Care to address the contentions in the body of the post?

8. Nope
That's money that didn't make it into the Easter collection plates. OP agrees with micro economic theory. Discretionary spending is the income that people can choose how they spend. It's a limited pool of money.
Those $5-30 donations were deducted from another use. My guess would be church collections, as opposed to porno magazines, drugs and booze... If true that's a double whammy, because a church collection is tax exempt.
^ Really? and y'all wonder why Aesop's Fables come to mind?

Mr. Mannn, your proglodyte chew toys at DU Jr. fail to understand that the same can be said about taxes
-
They are liberals: they fail to understand a great many things.
-
It sounds to me like a rationalization of why leftists are only generous with other peoples money.

Hi5 Carl! brilliant

What a bunch of whiny little bitches. It's no skin off their butts.
DU, the home of Whiny Little Pricks...

Whatever. Donor probably bought one less pizza or video game or pair of shoes or ... this month. Big whoop! It's called making choices. I'm just glad that this choice made by 10s of thousands has POed so many Libs & Progs.

They can't bring themselves to capitalize God.
It's like they don't want to concede any possibility that there is an omnipotent being who created them.
It's ironic because the intent of their meaning is changed by their disdain for the almighty.
When they say "godly" all that means is some intentionally flawed fictional character.
That is the antithesis of Godly.

This is from the same bunch of people who's chosen political party had to hold a vote to decide if they would retain any mention of God in their platform.

The same party that use the word "democratic" as its name that had already loaded in the result when it was overwhelmingly against putting God in. Remember the teleprompter photos?
Yeah, the democrat party runs the useful idiots like pros.
OAN, i thought the gofundme page was just a money laundering scheme by the evil Koch Brothers.

Just off the top off my head, I would guess that way less than 25% of the money donated would have ended up in any campaign fund and, no (D)elutionists, it took little to nothing away from any church.
A lot of that money was big FU to teh ghey

13. Not being factored: value
The people donating that money think there is a greater value in demonstrating to the leftist fascists that their threats of violence and bigotry are not going to drive out the hated Minority-Other but have the reverse effect.
It's good to teach the hate-mongers that their tantrums will only enrich the objects of their hate.

24. ...or ACTUAL value...
Which accomplishes more, actually..giving one person a million dollars or giving 1000 needy people $1000 each?
I814U2CY (955 posts)
25. What if those 1,000 people aren't worth it?
You assume you are qualified to speak to the worth of each circumstance.

At least your odds are better with 1000.

32. And to them the value was proving the Social-Justice fascists can't push people around.
Money well spent.

The DUmmie was running their projector again. Only they would be stupid enough to buy a porn magazine when there is the internet. Drugs? Another DUmmie habit. Booze? that can go either way, but I can do without booze since I have for a few years.

It kills them that people made a conscious choice to reject their perverted LGBT ideology (the L stands for Liberal).
-
The GayKK lost this time. Each win against the GayKK emboldens people.
Remember how Mozilla proudly got rid of the guy for the sin of donating money to Prop 8? Well since then Mozilla has dropped huge market share. I fully expect Angie's List to go down the tubes. If it weren't for all the hipster douchebags, Apple would be losing market too. Cook is no Jobs and putting his faggotry above the company will mean Apple has peaked.

As usual, the DUmmies get it wrong. They think it's all about religion. It has to be, because they can't think past square one. Thanks to I814U for pointing out the reality: It was a vote against the fascists. F U, gay mafia.
BTW, I wonder if WCGreen is having an awkward moment about now.

Many who contributed were Christians, but they did not merely act out of religious solidarity. There were also some contributors who are not Christians. Not much religious solidarity there, either.
Religious sympathy/solidarity was a motive. Rejection of same-sex marriage and the gay activists' agenda was a motive. Rejection of the activists' and MSM's thuggery was a motive.
I suppose that's a degree of complexity many/most DU-folk are unable or unwilling to recognize and acknowledge.

Ditto. I am not religious. For me, it wasn't about their religion, it was about their freedom of religion, private property rights, and resistance to tyranny.
And it was fun to rub Buzzy's nose in it by donating an extra $10 in his name.
