Or, .........I answered this one on a previous thread.
Buzzy, you are trying to avoid a lot of inconvenient truth here at the Cave. Do you have the cojones to answer this question?Pretty weak, Big Dog. Maybe this should be in the Mind Numbing Stupidity forum. But, since you squeezed it out here, I'll answer:
Given: A homosexual owns a custom cake making business in Topeka, Kansas . If Shirley Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church walked into his shop and ordered a cake decorated with an upside-down US flag and a cross dripping blood, and the words 'God Hates Fags', would that baker be obligated to make that cake?
typical DUmmy bullshit
Typical DUmnyhood, Buzz. I asked you a question with a simple yes-or-no answer, and you blah-blah-blahed your way in a circle.no
Let's try this again. If Shirley Phelps walked into a homosexual-owned bakery and ordered a custom cake decorated with an upside-down US flag, a bloody cross, and the words 'God Hates Fags', would that baker be obligated to make and decorate that cake?
Yes, or no?
I answered this one on a previous thread. But why aren't the Muslim bakers getting death threats from the liberal brownshirts? Why isn't some lesbian golf coach tweeting out an invitation to burn down their business? Haven't checked, but are there hate messages on their Facebook page?
No, the Muslim baker -- under laws in most states -- cannot discriminate against people for sexual orientation. They are subject to legal action.
no
Pretty weak, Big Dog. Maybe this should be in the Mind Numbing Stupidity forum. But, since you squeezed it out here, I'll answer:
The pizza parlor announced that they were going to take advantage of the new Indiana law and discriminate against gays when it came to providing services. Refusing to construct a cake that you describe doesn't fall under the same category of discrimination. Bakers are not obligated to put whatever level of obscenity on a cake a customer wants. Refusing to put "God Hates Fags" or the other sh*t you described is within the baker's rights.
There's my answer.
As for running away -- I'm still here. If you post something interesting (or dirt stupid), I might reply. Or not.
No they didn`t,you are a ****ing liar.

Uh, yeah, they did. I provided the video of an interview and the transcription of the exact quote on another thread. Read my words carefully, Carl: they portray what was said with 100% accuracy.Again a lie. Do stew beat me to the exposure.
The word "announced" implies that they intended to make an official policy change, something along the lines of posting signs in the door of "effective such and such date, we will no longer serve pizza to the gheys".You don't like the word "announcement"? Fine, but they said what they said. Period.
There was no announcement...
BTW, still waiting on your response to the questions I asked. Are you scared to answer them? Or do you concede that your arguments are untenable?I have no idea what questions you asked. I either missed them or ignored them. Repeat them here or tell me where to look, and I consider answering them.

No asshole, you misrepresented what happened and declared a falsehood and were called on it.All DUmmies lie...all the time.
That makes you a ****ing liar as I said.

Nope. I merely restated what the young woman said on camera, and nothing more. You created to different and incorrect context for my comments in an attempt to disprove me.
She said what she said. That is an indelible fact. She said that if gays came into her pizza place and asked them to sell them pizzas for a gay wedding, they would refuse. That's it. She said it, I quoted her.
There is NOTHING inaccurate in the way I quoted her.

You are not even too clever by half mutt.Okay. I get it.
You said she announced, that is far different then answering a set up,hypothetical question designed to be a "gotcha".
Even in this statement you lie as they were not asked if they would just randomly sell them but if they would provide a catering service.
You are so far in over empty head it is hilarious. :rotf:
Okay. I get it.
You're not interested in a discussion at any level.
Done and done.
no
Buzzy, how do you feel about Ron Paul?Interesting question.
Interesting question.
I voted for Paul in 1988 because I was in a libertarian phase (still there in part), and he offered an alternative to Bush. I liked Paul's message at the time, but I've drifted further left since that time. Most of the libertarian candidates after Paul were a bit unhinged.
Paul's political views have wandered about over the years. He was outspoken against the invasion of Iraq in 2002, which was good, but the hard-core libertarian approach is not as appealing to me now as it once was. I admit that I lost track of him during the later years of his terms in the House.
I have no idea what questions you asked. I either missed them or ignored them. Repeat them here or tell me where to look, and I consider answering them.
Nice try to run away when you idiotically talk yourself into a corner.
Try to answer this then.
Did the pizza place provide a catering service...yes or no?
Did the question asked of them apply to a service they did not provide...yes or no?
Did they ever say they would refuse to sell a pizza to a person for any reason in the course of their normal business operations...yes or no?
Three simple questions, three simple answers, can you do it?
You previously stated that you believe Christian business owners have no right to refuse service to anyone based on their (the Christians') moral beliefs. You were consistent in stating the same about Muslim businesses, at least Muslim bakeries. The gay baker is refusing to make a cake bearing a hateful slur. If the baker refused to bake the cake because he hates Baptists, that would be unacceptable. But, I'm guessing the same hypothetical baker would refuse to similarly decorate a cake ordered by Nazis or a cake ordered by Will Pitt saying, "F*ck you, Karl Rove, you f*cking f*ck." If he provided the Pitt/Rove cake and not the Nazi/Westboro cake, he'd be in trouble.
Now, it is reasonable to conclude that the homosexual baker is morally opposed to the Westboro Baptist Church's religious beliefs. It is also reasonable to conclude that the Christian pizza people in Indiana are morally opposed to participating in a homosexual wedding (or wedding reception).
So, why do you believe the homosexual's moral opposition is a valid reason to discriminate, but the Christians' is not?

You claimed that you were once a libertarian but you think the government can compel businesses to provide services against their will.
Quite the libertarian!
So you believe it is not the actions of the business owner which are "unacceptable", it is his motive. As long as he can justify his discrimination to your satisfaction, it's OK. Good for me, bad for thee, right?Certain forms of discrimination are acceptable under the law; "no shirt, no shoes, no service", for example. You cannot, however, discriminate against entire groups of people (race, color, religion, sexual orientation).
...which you would already know if you had done some "opposition research"- your friend Pitt can help you with that...First, I do not consider you the opposition (life is too short), and I'm too lazy to do such research (ditto). Second, Will Pitt is a dick. I've told him so many times. I'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual.

If you had looked before you leaped, you would have learned that I was one of the founding members of the Patriot Guard in Kansas, and was the National Captain (like the national commander of the American Legion or the VFW) from 2007-2008.Whoa. Dude, you are a hero.

I'm beginning to wonder if Buzz has some sort of S&M fetish because I've treated him nothing but politely, and I don't think he's answered my question.
Whoa. Dude, you are a hero.

No, I am not.
I am thinking that too.I don't recall your question. On this thread? Another? Please direct me to your question or, maybe, just re-ask.
No, I am not.Well, okay. You and yours figured out how to minimize the disruption by these awful people in a quiet way that still honored those we lost, and that was awesome. Maybe not heroic to you, but damn. Just damn.

You know what ?
I really think Buzzy is mixing up Big Dog and Bad Dog.
Just another good example of how loose of a grip libs have on reality.

No chance. I an urbane strikingly handsome man about town. And, Buzzy has acknowledged I am the most intelligent member of this board. Big Dog, on the other hand, is a big dog......a big...dog.
That's right, and remember that my dear, sweet Sue called me a Bull Mastiff!
Yes, things were getting pretty steamy in that thread. Almost told you two to get a room.
I have no idea what questions you asked. I either missed them or ignored them. Repeat them here or tell me where to look, and I consider answering them.
I answered this one on a previous thread. And yet they do discriminate against gays and nothing is done or said and the professional outrage crowd...you included...remain suspiciously silent.
