Group Turns Human Poop Into Charcoal For Cooking
You know, this is actually a good idea. Especially after I once watched a documentary on Current TV about Shit and the conditions of sanitation around the globe.

This Group Gives Refugees Toilets, Then Turns The Waste Into Charcoal For Cooking
This inventive solution is no load of crap.
Across the globe, 1.8 billion people use a drinking water source that is contaminated with fecal matter, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). To make sure the waste produced by refugees and low-income households in Kenya doesn’t infiltrate their water systems, a group founded by U.S. university grads is turning poop into charcoal for cooking.
Established in 2011 based off of research conducted at Emory and Georgia Tech, Sanivation provides toilets to people in need, collects the waste and then treats it with solar energy. The final byproduct are low-cost briquettes that can be safely used for cooking and heating homes.
Sanivation co-founder Emily Woods said in a video interview that the briquettes are particularly “fantastic†because it burns longer than standard coal and emits less carbon monoxide and particulate emissions.
Less pollution means significantly fewer deaths.
but only for "them":

12. I think that's why I put it in GD and not the lounge
In the end this is good news. Our world is overpopulated and sanitation is a serious problem in third world nation. What sounds gross to us might actually be a solution for other countries where fecal matter contamination is a real problem. It seems this invention would eliminate the contamination and produce something that could be used to help create fire. I'm assuming during the drying process the nasty stuff is burned away - there are solar panels involved.
But it is still good for a laugh

'Ethiopian food tastes like shit' just took on a whole new meaning.

It's also an ingredient in NJCher's stew.

My comment to the LynneSin primitive is, "you go first."
Of course she won't; this is something for other people, not her.

Anyway, when I was in college years ago, decades ago, I once read in an underground Marxist newspaper--no source was cited though, so I dunno if it's true--that the "average" human being expels 11,000 pounds of solid body wastes in his life-time.
If that's the case, because of all that she puts down, surely the LynneSin primitive has single-handedly put out a whole Mount Everest of the stuff by now.

Even when you're cooking dog ?
Or do they eat that "sushi style".
I wonder who we could ask about this.
You know, someone authoritative.

Who would have ever guessed that DUmmies on foodstamps was a energy source....not clean energy but energy none the less.

With DUmmies, you can use the whole DUmmie, since they're full of shit to begin with.

^Can someone describe that to me ?
It's just a question mark inside of a box to me.

I'm hoping January 21, 2017 to return some of our fecal matter to Kenya

Okay, I see it now.
It's Bo on the hoof not wanting to be the next meal.

Why limit it to waste?
Why not use whole dead DUmmies?
Soylent green would be better than NJCher's stew.

Why limit it to waste?
Why not use whole dead DUmmies? Toxic waste, for one. Do you want to write the Environmental Impact Statement?
Soylent green would be better than NJCher's stew.

Perhaps, but I still wouldn't eat it.
