The Senate on Tuesday destroyed any lingering hope President Barack Obama might have had for passing his budget plan through Congress this year, by voting down Obama’s plan 1-98.

Just before the vote, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) noted that Obama’s budget has been savaged in the press since it was introduced this year. Republicans themselves have noted it contains higher taxes, more spending, and no end in sight for the huge annual budget deficit.

“Since 2011, it’s only gotten two votes for the president’s proposed budget, 1,023 votes against,” Cornyn said.

Does anyone seriously believe that any budget by the GOP will be much better?

I haven't seen Bo around for a long time.
And I happen to know Bo is not in a cage strapped to the roof of  Mitt's car.

Not much better...but at least it will pass.

IMHO I think the President submits budgets he KNOWS will not pass and he does it on purpose.  By orcing these silly continuing resolutions year after year he's not held to any spending limits and he cat treat Federal funds like a giant slush fund to move around where and whe he sees fit.

And it gives him the "continual crisis" that Dems love every time the money is about to run out.

Well, he's fulfilled his statutory requirement. Now it's time for the House to fulfill theirs and produce a budget that lowers spending for once.
