Al Gore at SXSW: We Need to ‘Punish Climate-Change Deniers’ and ‘Put a Price on Carbon’
For the third time in the last few years, Al Gore, founder and chairman of the Climate Reality Project, spoke at the festival on Friday. Naturally, his interactive discussion focused on addressing the climate crisis. The former vice president focused on the need to “punish climate-change deniers, saying politicians should pay a price for rejecting ‘accepted science,'†said the Chicago Tribune.
Ramping up the rhetoric a bit, Al?

Leftist is just another word for "I Am A Raging Communist and Nazis Totalitarian Freak".

algore doesn't even understand his own case. There is no such thing in science as "accepted science."
AGW is contentious, is not universally accepted as axiomatic (neither is TToE nor TToG), and meets exactly zero criteria of a Scientific Theory (unless you adopt "taking money to spout nonsense" as a Scientific Theory.

There is a 9 foot blanket of snow insulating Boston this winter.
Not only does the snow insulate heat from escaping, it muffles the sounds of AlGore's hysterics.
-
Start with our local radio/TV weather reporters. They spent the whole of the last two winters denying Global Warming.

Question for you al... how did you get to Austin Texas? Did you walk or take a private jet?

A one time follower of Al's;
Yes, Al Gore appears to be very comfortable in selling out his principles for a $100 million profit. And at least he “gets†the criticism. He disagrees that it is hypocrisy, apparently on the basis that he doesn’t like the word hypocrisy.
Stewart highlighted the fact that Gore could have made a statement about his principles, but at the end of the day Gore determined that the cost-benefit analysis benefited him enough to be comfortable with taking fossil fuel money.
Al Gore’s “activism†has been a money maker on a tremendous scale. He has made a mint selling indulgences — er, I mean “carbon offsets†— and in some cases even sold them to himself in order to claim that his (very high) carbon footprint was neutral. So while he’s busy taking the high road telling people what to do, he himself not only goes and profits off of that (creates network, sells it) but his profit comes from the very same people/industry he built his reputation on by vilifying and imploring people to avoid.

AlGore established the Climate control energy exchange on the CBOT.
The symbol as I recall was CCX.
As an IPO issuer in an extremely speculative stock, he counted on his followers to buy heavily.
They did.
He made a fortune off that scam knowing all too well the business model behind the stock was worthless.
He took the money and ran when the company was bankrupt, the stock was de listed, and his investors were left holding the bag of worthless stocks.
Al Gore is good at taking people to the cleaners.
But for a cleaner planet...not so much.
