Univision fires anchor for racist Michelle Obama insult
http://money.cnn.com/2015/03/12/media/univision-fires-rodner-figueroa-michelle-obama/
Univision has sacked a talk show host who likened First Lady Michelle Obama to characters in the movie "Planet of the Apes."
The Spanish-language network announced that Rodner Figueroa, an Emmy Award-winning host and presenter, had been fired for the remarks he made on Wednesday.
"Yesterday during our entertainment program 'El Gordo y La Flaca' Rodner Figueroa made comments regarding First Lady Michelle Obama that were completely reprehensible and in no way reflect Univision's values or views," Univision said in a statement. "As a result, Mr. Figueroa was immediately terminated."
In a broadcast on Wednesday, Figueroa said, "Michelle Obama looks like she's part of the cast of 'Planet of the Apes.'" Figueroa made the comments as a photo of the first lady was shown on screen.
Holy shit, racist as hell and dumb to boot!

Some reports say that it was Barry's office that complained, but CNN says it was Michelle's office that made the call that got the guy fired. Figueroa deserves to have his dream smashed and be forced to slink back into the shadows for not showing the proper respect to Empress Obama. The race obsessed Obama administration probably has a task force working to destroy Figueroa, but to do it quietly and alienating the smallest number of latinos. This is the kind of crisis that could force Barry to miss a golf outing.

6. He claims he meant no racial intent and voted twice for Obama
Update, 6:22 p.m. EST: TMZ reported that, according to Figueroa’s representatives, they were told by a Univision executive that Obama’s office complained about the remark, leading to his firing.
Figueroa also reportedly wrote a letter to her denying any racist intent, as he is both biracial and gay.
“I’ve been an activist for causes in favor of minorities, as I have been discriminated against,†he allegedly wrote, adding, “I voted openly twice for your husband, Barack Obama.â€

Even though said in jest, IMO, a bit over the top and definitely uncalled for.

I'm amused by the way this gu is attempting to trump M.O. hand..
She is holding the race and sex card, and he counters with the biracial and gay cards..
Don't think its going to work though..

I've heard her and owebuma described from the spectrum of Jackie O (the American royalty Kennedys) to Roddy McDowell in full planet makeup.
So what ?
The only ones they really want to go after are the ones they want to politically destroy.
In those cases they don't even need evidence.
They just fabricate it.

If Figueroa has made a comment about Laura "pickles" Bush He would have been made head of the network.

Not to mention all the political cartoons about George "McChimpy" Bush that floated around for 8 years. Or the one with Condaleeza Rice as a swawking parrot.
(Doesn't help Moochelle's case that she looks like a hairless Sasquatch in the first place). :rotf:
If it wasn't for double-standards, DUmmies would have NO standards.

Univision is a business, and can do as they choose. IIRC, they are as liberal as the day is long. As such, circular firing squads among Libs & Progs should be applauded and encouraged. Let Barrack the Thin-Skinned and Mooch-chelle alienate some Hispanics from the D Party, show Hispanics how much they really are valued.

It turns out that Figueroa wasn't even talking about Mooch-elle when he made the Planet of the Apes comment, he was talking about a male makeup artist who had made himself up to look like Mooch-elle. But that's those Obamas for you--they always are going off half cocked. For example, Barry with his comment about the Cambridge police acting stupidly. And that's just one example, there are many.
Except he might not have actually said this about First Lady Michelle Obama.
The comment in question came during a segment where the hosts were talking about a male make-up artist who “transformed†himself into a likeness of Michelle Obama.
Figueroa has since posted an open letter to Mrs. Obama apologizing and explaining that he was actually referring to the guy in makeup as one of the cast members on “Planet of the Apes†and not the first lady:
I offer my sincere apology for an unfortunate comment I made about a make-up artist’s depiction of you on Univision’s show “El Gordo y La Flaca†yesterday. It was clearly in bad taste and misunderstood.
I would like to explain that my remark was not directed at you, but at the result of an artist’s depiction of you that I found wasn’t accurate. The entire video clip in context corroborates this.

Getting a guy fired over your own ignorant assumption--Heck of a job, Moch-elle.

Leftists turning on leftists. :lmao: It should happen more often.
Even race trumps over gays. To the left, gays, and minorities are just pawns to the left.
