Just in case you heartless bastards forgot that The OS is dying....

I've been asked to join a real world group for newly diagnosed terminal patients, I've been there

OS

I initially thought no, because it would be so hard to do over and over. This is more than a shoulder to cry on.

Then I listened to the reasons I was asked. I appear to be making the best of my time since I was diagnosed in late December 2013. That I can help others deal with the cards we've been dealt. That I can help.

I asked for time to think it over. I'm starting to lean towards at least trying it. It's once every couple weeks for an hour or two.

Any thoughts on this?

OS

late December... 2013?...  15 months ago?

4. My dear Omaha Steve...

Any time you can join a group that relates to what you're going through.......I would say this is beneficial to you as well as to them.

It would help reduce any possible sense of isolation that you might feel.

I would say: Go for it! Yes, at least try it out and see how it fits you and what you need.

21. It is an honor to be asked

but you and Marta must decide what's right for you. If you feel this may be too taxing or in any way problematic, decline without a second thought. On the other hand, if you'd like to participate, you might want to do so with the stipulation that you can terminate at any time.

You are a stellar fellow, Omaha Steve. Your benevolent nature can be seen in your posts on DU. This is your time. Spend it on your terms. You've earned it.

Godspeed.

35. There is a drug going to trial

My damage is irreversible. Even I can see it on an MRI.

By the time this drug would be approved by the FDA, I'll be long gone.

OS

Liver and Kidney failure?

Should we take a poll to see what's wrong with The OS?

It's terminal. It's slow. It's visable on the MRI...

Sometimes it just feels good to be a heartless bastard.

Especially if one's trying to milk, for sympathy, an experience that inevitably happens to all men.

You damned right. And I'm proud to be a heartless bastard when the DUmbass in question has a heart and two parents who were married when the DUmbass was conceived.

One major difference, though. He's a DUmbass and I'm not.

Getting the heartless bastard treatment is better than  the DUmmies deserve.

Aw, now what is this?

.....deal with the cards we've been dealt.

The big guy's trying to make it sound as if it was just random bad luck, a sheer accident.

Like most other primitives, he dealt his own cards, eating like the LynneSin primitive.

"Consequences" can be just as much based upon action, as "luck."

Completely self-inflicted.

When most problem employees drink on the job, they bring a bottle of liquor to work. Steve brought an empty cup.

No way! The Big Guy is just waiting for the ground to thaw.

Which reminds me.

It's been at least a couple of weeks since he's mentioned that he's terminally ill.

Way overdue for a reminder.

It's almost as if he is on some sort of strange menstrual cycle that requires him to seek sympathy and support from the internet weirdos every few weeks.  If he really is terminal and all hope is lost, he should drop the drama and make an attempt at a dignified exit.

Too much to expect.

He's the big guy after all, one of the least-bright primitives on Skins's island.

I think you identified Steve's condition: terminal hysteria. Nothing a little vinegar and water won't clear up.

I'm opposed to the FDA spending one penny on anything that might extend his life.

Just a minor correction . . .

Just a minor correction . . .

Well, remember that one time, I suggested he and the LynneSin primitive go on a celery diet, because the consumption of celery burns up more calories than what're in the celery itself.

Nothing but celery; in no time at all, both should be about as svelte as the raccoon-shy Aerows primitive, or Twiggy of yesteryear.

Twiggy, at 61, is still quite striking:

I wasn't aware that sweaty beards showed up on MRI's, let alone be malignant.

Or maybe she caught something from him.  Haven't heard from the Shehag for quite a while.

Once Hitlery is drummed out of the democrat core(notice I didn't use corps as in corpsemen),
Omaha Steve will have his biggest chance at elective office in his whole career.

And collect Social Security.

Article the other day said Social Security maintains 6.5 million accounts for people over 112 years old.

So 15 months and you STILL ain't worm food?  Man that is a long time dying.  A couple of questions come to mind:

1. Why did you wait a year to retire?  You could have gone on the Dummie Gravy Train aka disability, right away.
2. Why did you wait 10 months to let the Dump know?

C'mon Lardass... answer the questions!
