U.S. federal authorities are set to bring criminal charges against New Jersey Democratic Senator Robert Menendez, CNN reported on Friday.
Menendez allegedly used his Senate office to push the business interests of a Democratic donor and friend in exchange for gifts, CNN said.
A representative for Menendez could not immediately be reached for comment.

The New Jersey Democrat told CNN's Dana Bash on "State of the Union" that the Obama administration should add North Korea to its list of state sponsors of terrorism after U.S. investigators pinned blame on the country for hacking into Sony's computer system.
He also took issue with Obama calling the hack an act of "cybervandalism."

He became a thorn in the lib's side.
