My little suburb must be getting desperate for cash
I just got back from the convenience store. I was waiting to turn left onto a divided road when there was a knock on my window. A police officer was at the window with their car behind me. The officer said I should pull out to the middle of the road and turn from there. This of course is illegal. I told the officer that I knew it was illegal and pointed out that I was not stupid enough to do that and let them give me a ticket for it.

If he think that anyone will believe this tale, he's DUmber than a box of rocks.

5. The police officer told me to do something illegal so they could give me a ticket for doing it.

They gotta start doing better. :banghead:

And through out the entire conversation the cop was thinking, "if only there was a bush here that I could jump out of."

I'm thinking by "divided" they mean it has yellow lines between the roads. I'm also thinking the cop was nicely telling the fool to get the **** going. I do this all the time, as do cops. You pull in the center, and pull out when it's clear. If it's illegal, it damn sure doesn't seem to be here.

That actually happened to me.  In the early 80's I had a Fiat X-1/9 which looked cool and looked fast.  I was on PCH on my way from Malibu to Santa Monica when I was pulled over by a CHiP.  he actually asked me "how fast were you going?"  "55" "How fast did you want to go?" "55" (no dummy I).

They ran my plate and then said something like "keep it under the limit."

I assume they were just bored -- PCH late at night was pretty uneventful back then.

He has quite a history of just plain ol' stupid threads.  Like the time he didn't understand why a woman (a co-worker of his wife's, I believe) who was hosting a party got upset when he said "I don't drink with you."

Oh and all fellow DFW area members, this dumbass lives in Plano (possibly Frisco) I believe.  He's the dumbass going 55 on Central Expressway.

If I understand it right, he was about to turn left to get into the far lane(s) of a highway with a median.  Crossing the near lane(s) first and briefly pausing where the road crosses the median to check for oncoming traffic is not illegal AFAIK.  The DUmp monkey probably was waiting like a moron with open near lanes because there was oncoming traffic in the far lanes.

I think that's what he was trying to say too. I've always called that the "suicide lane" and use the tactic all the time. (not illegal as far as I know)
