But it's probably worthy of its own free-standing thread.

127. Near zero here

Wind chills making it worse. This cheap apartment I live in,is drafty as crap,if you drop your feet near the floor you can feel a bit of cold wind, also the mini blinds do nothing to keep a steady cool breeze off of you so I sit here wrapped in blankets and still feel the chill. This place. Has no insulation. Shit they didn't even bother to paint the cheap cardboard covered drywall plaster with any paint.

This place was financed as low income housing by a ****ing bank, never expect a rich corporate pig organization to give a quality home to those they'd rather see dead.$600 a month for this in 3years this place will be falling apart.

Already we've had a shooting next door, drug raids, criminals pretending to be maintenance banging on doors...this place isn't safe it's hell.

I so miss my house, it was safe, I had painted the walls beautiful, cold nights like this were nothing if you had heat, the insulation killed all the drafts. I'd have my heat set at 69 and it was warm there. In this stupid apartment 70 degrees feels like 60.

I don't think I will ever recover from losing my old home,I miss it still. Living in an unfamiliar hostile(they harass anyone different this place is full of bigots racists assholes) place with no way to get around,no way to see freinds ect.sucks, but it's horrible to me because I live 99% of the time alone here.

Life just sucks, since my sisters stole the house and sold it leaving me with nothing nowhere to go. I had to go here. I am starting to just vacillate from hate to despair.

Tonight is the perfect sort of bitter cold I would walk outside find a nice spot lay down and freeze if I didn't have mom and my cats. if I didn't have them I'd be out there looking at the moon until it all went away.

By the way, remember, the $600 a month rent isn't something the subway cat pays.

We do.

WOW!!! I wonder who his neighbors are? Ex rich white guy moves into a slum area and suddenly real life hits home. He finds out where the real racist and bigots and assholes live.
He should feel right at home with his soul mates.

The subway cat's a "she," in her late 40s.

However, true, she's always wanted to be a "he."

UGP is a woman. Wait, she's a man. No, she's a panther.

Hold on a second. UGP thinks she's a panther, but she keeps a cat. She's a slave owner!

Well, her gender's rather dubious here, although since she was born a "she," really, she's always fated to be a "she."

You might recall that some years ago, she got all agog and excited because the taxpayers of Maryland were going to pay for her having her jugs lopped off.

She thought it was the first half of her hoped-for sex-change.

As it turned out, there'd been a fear of breast cancer, and so it was decided to remove them.

However, the subway cat's still hoping the taxpayers of Maryland'll get around to paying for the other half of the surgery she "needs."

That's how she got herself committed the first time. She stuck a kielbasa to her belly with duct tape and ran around the neighborhood naked, yowling like a horny tomcat. Next thing you know, she was strapped to an ambulance cart, on her way to the nuthouse.

While of course, sir, you're merely being jestful, in good humor, but actually something like that, near to that, did happen.

I notice that she is complaining about her current lodging with Mom and the slave cat. Compared to the comfort and warmth of the psychiatric hospital, it must like living in a refrigerator box under an offramp.

Mom's in a nursing home.

You might recall that the subway cat once occupied her old luxuriant digs in a gated community with Mom, who owned the place.

But Mom got scared with all the weirdos and freaks the subway cat was bringing there, and so Mom moved out.

After the sisters decided it was best to put Mom in a nursing home, since where the subway cat was living was Mom's anyway, they sold it, ejecting their sister the subway cat.

And so here we are.....

One suspects that if the subway cat were tucked away into Buckingham Palace, she'd find lots to complain about, that she's not being supported by the taxpayers in the comfort and ease she's worthy of.

Also, the subway cat mentions her two cats, which one of the sisters offered to "hold" for her until she got a new place.

Poor cats.

The subway cat's pet python was given to a veterinary to "hold" for her.

The subway cat's probably already forgotten about the pet python though, and it's safe to assume the veterinary, uh, took care of it.  Permanently.

It amazes me that she thinks this way. If it were me then instead of bitching about the conditions I would be thankful that someone is providing me with a dry place out of the rain and weather. I guess she is just the prime example of the 'I deserve' mentality. She can't get it in to her head that in reality we deserve nothing other than what the Lord makes us capable of obtaining. Instead of complaining about a drafty floor and the rich buy who provides it, thank the Lord that you aren't sleeping in the rain next to a grocery store dumpster fighting with rats for food in the garbage.

You got it, sir, but you probably got it a long time ago.

It's a primary characteristic of primitivity, this bitching about what one doesn't have, instead of being grateful for what one does have.

Given that we have so many new members who aren't familiar with the subway cat, I was thinking about posting a couple of photographs, but sloughed off, figuring I'd get around to it later.

Thanks!

God knows that people who have no stake in their housing won't do shit to take care of it.  So-called "slum lords" don't build slums, the renters turn them into slums most of the time.

I'm not sure what the subway cat has to worry about here.

Over her lifetime, she's made her body so fearfully grotesque that any "thug" coming her way would run away from fright.

No, that was Amber, the Lady Freedom Returns primitive.

No need for a "pardon;" one should always feel free to ask if one doesn't know.

Thank you for clearing that up.

Which brings me to another thought that may be running 2 or more primitives together.
Wasn't UGP on a natural high when meeting nothing but success (after moving West) from pottery, art, a new telemarketing management job, and then an even better job offer ?

The subway cat was locked up for a while, for her own good, and only recently came back.

Not only a she that thinks it's a he, but then she/he discovered he/she is queer to boot. Likes guys.

And then there's the cat thing. So I guess he/she/it is a scratcher. And he/she/it has one scrawny cat left, a meal that escaped the snake before her/his/it's loving and caring sisters had it put down. Now it's hat band, and possibly also a belt. Either way, makes the has-been snake more useful than YOU GEE PEE.

It's enough to make your head spin, if not just a severe brain ache.

I had wondered what happened to her.  The subterranean ***** cat ought to be damned thankful she got a roof over her feline fat ass. She could be out in the wild hunting for her din din like real panthers do.

I don't guess it ever occurred to her fat feline ass to maybe go buy some things to improve the situation in her apartment. Like some paint. Like some glass covering.  Even a little space heater or some warm fuzzy socks to keep her paws warm.  No instead the fat feline would rather complain.  This was all predicted to happen BTW, well in advance, once her mother was no longer in control of the finances and the sisters took over.  We warned her. Like all dummies, she ignored us. Now she is learning the hard way.

I have zero sympathy.

Things to improve her situation are, of course, to be done and paid for by others.   It isn't subway kitty is going to work, or pay her own way, or anything else.  She has no saleable skills and you can tell that she isn't even a pleasant sort of person to be around.  She is at best a ward of the state, and that is unlikely to ever change.
