I've been crying lately thinking about the world as it is.

Why must we go on hating?
Why can't we live in bliss?

and love Cat Stevens.

I agree about the state of the world. I'm old enough to have thought we'd really see the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius, but I guess not. I thought we'd be better off now.

6. Didn't we all

Man, back in the day of free love, mass protests, civil disobedience, great music, thoughtful, deep conversation about how to make things better.

Dreamers we were. Unfortunately, we awoke to the same old nightmare

11. I don't know

To change the world, but it never had to become like THIS, I used to cry rant now I just feel a mixture of sadness disgust nostalgia and rage suffocated by a feeling of powerlessness. I dunno if my writing changed any minds or not, doesn't matter, seeing this world turn into what it's turning into wont stop because millions of people do not get the magnitude of the wall we will hit head t
On too very soon. Life here could have been something amazing, but millions made up thier minds to follow the leader and the money off the cliff, and all I can think are people on a mass scale subconsciously aware of what they have chosen?

Perhaps if you president wasn't such a ***** who would rather spend his time golfing instead of being the leader of the free world? Just a thought.

Yeah, it is.

Given the shortness of the post, uncharacteristic of her, she probably managed to jam in only a few words before the security techs caught her, as she's not supposed to post in public, it being bad for her.

As do I, but for a different reason.  Having a crazy relative like you can't be good.

Posted the EXACT opposite of this on FB about a month ago. Though I was nostalgic about the times of John Wayne, John McClane, and the Terminator. A more badass time with a lot better feel to it. I yern for tough, grounded characters to rise again. The ONLY good thing about the 60's was the music. (much of it, but not all) The rise of Liberalism may very well nullify it.

EuroLand "Peace Train" riders of the 1920s and 1930s would not see how their policies set them up for the devastation of WW2 and the Cold War. Why would their modern US co-ideologues be any more perceptive?

Cat Stevens- Peace Train:

Quote
LONDON, May 22 -- The musician known as Cat Stevens said in a British television program to be broadcast next week that rather than go to a demonstration to burn an effigy of the author Salman Rushdie, ''I would have hoped that it'd be the real thing.''

The singer, who adopted the name Yusuf Islam when he converted to Islam, made the remark during a panel discussion of British reactions to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini's call for Mr. Rushdie to be killed for allegedly blaspheming Islam in his best-selling novel ''The Satanic Verses.'' He also said that if Mr. Rushdie turned up at his doorstep looking for help, ''I might ring somebody who might do more damage to him than he would like.''

''I'd try to phone the Ayatollah Khomeini and tell him exactly where this man is,'' said Mr. Islam, who watched a preview of the program today and said in an interview that he stood by his comments.

You have to marvel at how these Dummies can be in such misery, yet apparently never look around at how everyone else is living.

If they did, they'd see that they're simply losers.
