Title: poll: does the DUmpster need to commemorate.....
Post by: franksolich on February 17, 2015, 09:35:50 PM
This coming April 30, a mere 72 days away, will mark the 10th anniversary of the scam that rocked the internet.

The primitives, with their short-term memories and brief attention spans, long ago forgot all about it, even though it was the biggest black eye Skins's island ever got.

Fitzmas and walrus-face's self-destruction were big, really big, but still, neither of them came anywhere near close to the two-and-a-half month run of poor stupid Beth's scam.

It was The Greatest Show On Earth, for its time.

On the other hand, there's so many members here who weren't around for it, and so there may be a lack of interest.

Absolutely.
If it stirs the primitives into an arm-pit wiggle-waggle frenzy, it's all good.

It should be an eye opener to everyone that DUmmies are sleazy and money grabbers.

There are certain days that should be marked.

The Dump needs to be reminded of Fitzmas, Pancake Corrie Day, St. Trayvon's Day, the Gentle Giant Memorial, and most certainly the anniversary of Andyscam.

They would never otherwise remember.

It's similar to how they need to be reminded of the anniversaries of fellow DUmmies' deaths.

The Feasts of St Skittles and St Swisher of Sweets could be observed by an online Postal Match.

Each shooter would fire at a standard B-27 silhouette from 1 yard (a gimme shot, of course), and from the distance of the kill shot to St Swisher. Post a picture of your silhouette at the Cave.

Celebrate with the libation of your choice (watermelon tea, if you must, but I'll have bourbon), and a good cigar (optional, of course).

I guess we need 2 -- start and End...

Maybe we can decorate the Dumpster, with a pink background (Andy was flaming gay), bows and little angels.

and the bottom of the page can be adorned with a wall of flames to indicate where Andy really spends his time now...

When is the anniversary of Scamdy?

I guess we need 2 -- start and End...

April 30, 2005 to July 7, 2005, although the "after-effects" continued until sometime early in September 2005.

<<<had a front-row, center, seat to all of it, every minute of it, along with the founder and CEO and brains of Scamdy, who's also a member here.

The evening of the latter date, hundreds of primitives vowed they'd never forget their late red round pal; that he was engraved in their hearts and thoughts forever and ever; that they'd think of him every day the rest of their lives.

They remembered him the first, second, and third anniversaries, but in diminishing numbers.  They remembered him not the fourth anniversary until franksolich prodded them (really).

I'm sure there's a few primitives who still remember him, but hazy about to the "when" of it all.

-- start and end...

Scamdy went on, but with ever-diminishing interest, until sometime in September 2005, when someone at our old home posted something he'd dug up from the way-back internet.

Fat Che's posting, in 1994 or 1995, of a "woman wanted" advertisement, in which he revealed he weighed 400 pounds, and was looking for someone who "liked" "fisting."

After which, mercifully, the curtain was finally brought down.

And the events of July 7 will be forever cloaked in mystery, witnessed in person by only one man still living.

Aside from that single in-the-room, up-close-and-in-person witness, the sodomite's carcass was never viewed by even one normal person.

There was never a published obituary outside of the moonbat press, and there's no gravesite or other commemoration of his short life of sexual perversion.

The round red sodomite vanished like a whisp of Sandhills cigarette smoke, along with tens of thousands of pledged DUmmybucks.

He's probably dead, and countless Dummies live in fear of following in his footsteps, watching out for a tall thin stranger with unfashionably long hair.

Were you around when that was posted, Fat Che's request for a woman?

I really regret I never saved it, but this was back in 2005, and I didn't have the computer know-how then, that I do now.

I only have vague notions of the scam. From what I gather, a fat guy was scamming DU claiming he needed money for medical bills, the Dump exposed the scam, the fat guy died, and the Dummies blamed Frank for his death.

In a rough, vague, way, that's it.

However, to be more pin-pointly accurate, poor stupid Beth, her marriage failing, with large unpaid bills, and loss of her "ranch" out in the desert imminent, used the terminal illness of the late red round one--with his permission; he didn't care--in a desperate attempt to get some funds to save her situation.

The late red round one knew he was dying, and the operation for which funds were being solicited, had in fact already taken place in Seattle, Washington, in late February 2005, two months before the scam was launched.

conservativecave didn't exist at the time; it was P-J Comix's DUmmie FUnnies, our old home, and ultimately scamdy.com, that exposed the scam.

The whole thing was poorly thought-out and executed; very little money was actually raised, and the termite primitive, the late red round one's "widower," ran away with it, leaving poor stupid Beth with not a cent for all her efforts.

Are there threads on archive about this? I wasn't around and think it would be a good idea to link to relevant threads if possible.

Nope, that's the tragedy of it.

P-J Comix's DUmmie FUnnies threads on the subject on freerepublic still exist, but the biggest one, the most massive enormous one, was erased by the owner of that site, pissed off because one of the acolytes of the then-not late red round one had whined about something franksolich had done.

There were three days in June 2005 that single DUmmie FUnnies threads on freerepublic garnered more traffic than all of Skins's island put together.

And a fourth day where it came close.

Think about that; a single thread having more traffic than a whole entire message-board.

I dunno why the owner of freerepublic didn't like his site covering the scam; it was interesting, it was entertaining, and increased the membership rolls.

- - - - - - - - - -

There was also extensive coverage of the scam at our old home, conservativeunderground, but alas our old home went up in flames in early 2008, losing all its material, having to start all over again.

conservativecave didn't come into existence until December 2007, two and a half years after the scam rocked the internet, so there's no original material about it here.

scamdy.com was dedicated to the scam, but sometime the autumn of 2007, two years after the issue was pretty much over and interest lagged, I took it down, but not knowing at the time how to save all the stuff--and there was lots and lots of stuff, about 90% of which hadn't made it on a public message-board yet--I just took it down, let it go.

About the same time I took down scamdy.com, the wikipedia article for the late red round one was also taken down, although myself and others associated with following the scam, having no association with wikipedia, had nothing to do with that.

Someone at wikipedia apparently decided the late red round one was a person of no significance, and evaporated it.

There's plenty of stuff stored by Google (https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#safe=off&q=site:freerepublic.com+%22andy+stephenson%22).  There should be a cached copy of that deleted thread.

Man, that one was massive, and one of the funniest.

I'll look it up later, in time for the 10th anniversary commemoration.

It was taken down because I'd posted a photograph of the sensitive lad, the piano-playing primitive, playing the piano for an appreciative black man.

He whined to Jim Robinson about it, as he didn't want his fellow primitives to know he hung around with black people.

Even on Skins's island, there's much that's missing.

"LOCK! DELETE! BAN!" seemed to be my fellow alum's usual reaction.

I could never figure out why the primitives were so upset and bent out of shape at us; it was s-o-o-o-o-o-o obviously a scam, having nothing to do with getting the red round one a "life-saving" operation.

We had the primitives' best interests at heart; not being the most sophisticated people around, like little children they were pretty gullible and susceptible to being cheated.

And feeling sorry for them, we didn't want them to get ripped off.

And their harsh ingratitude was the thanks we got.

What's probably been long ago forgotten is that we knew the scam was coming; that's why I was at the computer at exactly 3:30 p.m. central time, 2:30 p.m. mountain time, April 30.

Poor stupid Beth had been blatantly announcing it was imminent two weeks before it got underway.

All that "lead time" kind of ruined her case about how urgent it was to get as much money as quickly as possible.

And out of the tens of thousands of donations announced by the DUmmies and other moonbats, how much cash was actually pocketed by the scammers?

A thousand bucks? Two?

Surely not more than that.

Maybe that much; I dunno, but it wasn't anything near the amounts poor stupid Beth was always announcing.

What ticked me off was that probably most of the donations were from this side, not from the primitives.  We had a whole lot of sob-sisters back then, who were always whining about us "picking on a poor dying man."

Which was utter bullshit.

The red round one was dying, but that had nothing at all to do with this "fund-raiser."
