Item after item reporting increased Female Genital Mutilation IN THE USA!

New estimates suggest more than half a million women and girls have already suffered procedure or are still at risk.

They are to worried about reproductive rights and abortion to worry about real issues affecting women. Now if it were Christians doing this, they would be on it.

It's the duty of every red-blooded American man to oppose the Muslim hatred of female orgasms. Rub out the oppression!

What "reproducing" are libs doing when they utilize abortion ?
If nothing else libs are good at twisting terms to gain support for their depravities.

Sexual repression at its worst.

FGM became a plague in many (all?) EuroLand countries that welcomed immigrants from Muslim countries. Is any intelligent person who is not willfully blind surprised that FGM is being discovered here? Among Muslim immigrants? And not among Hispanic, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Scandinuvian, Frogistani, Germanic, etc., etc., etc. immigrants?

Sexual repression at its worst.
There are multiple degrees of FGM, but the in worst degree, those who don't die from infection experience pain in urination, intercourse, and child birth. IOW, they are "punished" for being women multiple times a day, every day of their lives. And FGM is performed at a very young age (IIRC, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, in Infidel, said it was done to her at age 5 or 6).
Mainstream feminists in the US are hypocrites blinded by their ideologies of multiculturalism and white=oppressor! And maybe frosted with cowardice.

I know that it is not widely practiced in Iran nor is it practiced amongst the Muslims that I know. They all speak lowly of it. What I believe to have happened is that, due to the overall male dominance of their society, some of the "men" in charge found a way to drag that one in to keep their daughters from being interested in sex. You must remember, they blame the woman for everything even of she is raped.

I think it could be generalized that the next "layer" deeper in complexity would be that FGM is concentrated among some Arab and especially African Muslims (looking at Wikipedia and reading a bit between the lines, it appears that actual demographic data on the prevalence of FGM is very patchy). I've not heard (not that I'm anything remotely close to an expert) of FGM being practiced among Persian Muslims or Muslims farther east (Wikipedia does mention some reports of FGM in SE Asia).
To be clear, FGM is not taught in the Qur'an - that I noticed when reading it. The claim has been made that FGM is a pre-Islamic indigenous custom. Maybe, but those areas where it is prevalent have been Muslim for well over a millennium. I'm not aware of any evidence that Muslim leaders have made any effort in all those centuries to put a stop to this brutalization of little girls that causes them pain until the day they die. If anything, the custom has been adopted by Islam in those areas, possibly due to mainstream Islam's very low esteem for women.

Mohammed was recorded as saying it was better for the man if they didn't cut to deeply. So, I guess Mohammed approved of FGM and therefore it became a part of Islam.

I suppose this correlates well with the man-hating PIV-is-rape Dworkinite feminazi view of the world, sort of a natural fit as it were.

JR, I was referring only to the Qur'an, and it is possible that I might have missed or forgotten something. It's been over 10 years since I waded through that insomnia cure. I'm guessing you are referring to one of the Hadith. My understanding is that the Hadith are purported eyewitness accounts of things Mohammed said and did. Because Mohammad used pronouns to a degree that understanding who is who is very difficult, referred to experiences without giving context, and some verses contradict earlier ones (which Allah reserved the right to do), the Hadith are regarded as essential to understanding the Qur'an, almost authoritative. Problem is some Hadith are regarded as reliable, and some as utterly unreliable, with opinions about particular Hadiths and their degree of reliability varying considerably. Confused? I'm not doing that much better. Don't know whether Mrs. ConLib would be willing to contribute to this sub-topic, but she might have better information and understanding of it and be able to give a better explanation.
