I have a question for DU

If the pilot was killed at the beginning of January, how did Fox just happen to have that video in time for the Jordanian king's visit with the the US President? How did the king just happen to be in America in time for the release of that video?

Quote
Obama hosted Abdullah at the White House for a hastily arranged meeting, hours after a video emerged online purportedly showing 26-year-old Lt. Muath Al-Kaseasbeh burned to death by the militant group. Abdullah, who was on a previously scheduled trip to Washington, arrived after nightfall and made no remarks to reporters as he and Obama sat side by side in the Oval Office.

Pardon me but I'm a very suspicious and cynical 'almost senior citizen'.

1. It seems possible that the video was obtained weeks ago.

The timing of the King of Jordan's quiet visit likely is no coincidence. We're about to see a much more active US and NATO role in Syria and Iraq. Much of the basing for an expanded attack would be in Jordan. Where that goes is a matter of informed speculation, but to be skeptical, ISIS may not be the only target of a military intervention. The confluence of events is troubling, to say the least.

2. Yes indeed

This planet is in serious trouble.
Why aren't Bush and Cheney at the Hague yet?

3. So you're thinking that Fox set up and filmed the pilot's murder and held it long enough to

Try to embarress Obama and the King?

I can see that.

Maybe that's what pissed off Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal and caused him to dump his Newscorp stock too.

Billionaire Alwaleed Sells $190 Million News Corp Stake

(Bloomberg) -- Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal’s investment firm sold a stake valued at almost $190 million in News Corp., reducing its holding in Rupert Murdoch’s media company to about 1 percent.
Alwaleed’s Kingdom Holding cut its ownership of Class B shares to 2 million from 13.2 million, or 6.6 percent, it said in a statement to the Saudi bourse Wednesday. The sale generated 705 million riyals ($188 million), which will be used for other investments, it said. Through Kingdom, Prince Alwaleed holds stakes in companies including Citigroup Inc. and Twitter Inc.
Alwaleed, who had the second-largest holding of voting stock in News Corp. after the Murdoch family, has been a staunch ally of the media baron. He publicly supported the family’s running of News Corp. amid phone-hacking revelations in 2011 that saw the New York-based company abandon its bid to take over the rest of European pay-TV operator Sky Plc.

All in all very convenient timing.

Good catch.

Open to correction but meetings between a President and foreign heads of state are generally choreographed months in advance.

As far as how quickly a video can get in the hands of a media outlet do these cretins know it is 2015?
It is not like someone has to deliver it via camel from across a desert.  :thatsright:

On edit...it appears that the meeting was not scheduled in advance, but happened while he was here after the video.
Still just CT lunacy.

7. I think ISIS made sure Fox got the full video first. And they were right to do it it seems.

Could have been in a lock box in New York, waiting for Fox to pick it up and spread it instantly no matter what the other media did.

A Sleeper Box.

You've gone way past conspiracy nut to as delusional as Charles Manson (and in some ways just as dangerous) and dumber than Amanda Marcotte tweeting that women should incorporate their vaginas.

Wow. I love the way they assume Fox sat on that video for a month. Did the possibility ever cross their minds that ISIS just released the video yesterday? I mean it was very edited, and that took a while.

DUmmies piss me off....everything is a conspiracy.

There is a TV show on Discovery (I think) about various conspiracy theories over the years and one of the historians commenting said that because people feel the need to have logic and order in their minds for things the random events of life can throw some.
To deal with that they resort to a CT as it fills in the blanks or gaps that real life sometimes serves up.
I have seen him before and am pretty sure he was a leftist talking head during the Florida 2000 election coverage but he perfectly summed up the demented mind of the DUmp.

It does seem that those that so cling to such are decidedly liberal in political philosophy.

Yeah but in their crazy, warped minds Fox could've edited it.

It can't be the Radical Muslims.

It must be the conservatives behind this violence.

My wife saw the whole video last night, and she told me that the thing which disturbed her the most was that it was so professionally done, so as not to have been done in a pile of rubble in Raqaa or Mosul or wherever the Hell else that IS has taken.  She wants to know where.  I told her that she was thinking like a CIA analyst. :whistling: :-)

Only if by "Good" you just mean prolific, as opposed to fitting all the known facts or being internally logical or consistent.

Did you read how they have a bunch of dry runs before the actual execution, in order to condition the victim before the actual event?

By good I mean hare brained (sorry Ptarmigan).
Then they have a penchant for collectively connecting totally unrelated knee jerks.
