LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
The first West Coast location of White Castle said it had to shut down temporarily a day after its grand opening on the Las Vegas Strip.
Through a tweet Wednesday afternoon, the eatery located inside the Best Western Casino Royale Resort had to close for "maintenance and to restock".
Due to overwhelming demand #WhiteCastleVegas is currently closed for maintenance and to restock. We will let you know when doors are reopen!

About two hours later, the store was reopened.
The company behind the popular brand opened to hungry customers on Tuesday at 2 p.m. The store intends to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Who would have thought White Castle would go over so big in Vegas ?
When I think of White Castle, I think of Chicago.
In my mind Chicago and Vegas are nothing alike.
There must be a lot of Chicagoans who visit Vegas.
-
Love me some White Castle. They're so much better than the awful gutbombs that Krystal sells.
-
When I think of White Castle, I think of itty, bitty pieces of cardboard. I'll take a Big Mac.

Between the tourists and the Midwest natives that have moved here that has helped I guess.
Plus they made a movie about White Castle!

I think of shoe leather with onions glued on them.

I have great memories of going to White Castle in Chicago with my Grandparents when I was a kid, I thought they were the best burgers ever. I stopped at one in Kentuky last year when I was passing through, and I was not impressed, they were not at all how I remembered them.
-
Wow. I didn't know they were still in business.
My White Castle memory is of picking up a couple dozen on an occasional Saturday morning and going to the Wayne Co. morgue with my dad to watch him and the pathologist figure out stuff on dead guys. I guess those greasy burgers were their brain food.
I'm guessing regulations and security were looser fifty years ago.

"White-ies" are frozen now---in the grocery stores, at least know they're in the St Louis area and at the Publix in Florida. SR loves those things for breakfast.
My White Castle memories aren't warm and fuzzy. We used to get them as a "reward" at sales meetings. My bosses were cheap. I used to kid that I couldn't be bribed with a cheapie little White Castle to listen to the BORING meetings. :-)

A man's man. :-)
They're good when they're fresh. Anything else isn't worth your time.

I saw the unsanitary conditions where they make and crate those frozen "White-ese (sounds like Larry Bird's sperm)." No way did I ever eat one again.

Do yourself a favor, go to In-and-Out instead :II:

It had a great owner, one of the best Elvis impersonators in town, and some awesome slots with 102% payback. I don't remember the price but it was a great deal.
I cannot, for the life of me, remember the name of the little casino just south of Circus Circus but it had the absolutely best Kosher hot dog in the world. For about a buck it was more than enough of a meal in itself.

White Castle Sliders have also made yearly appearances at various food festivals in Las Vegas via large food trucks that travel around the nation for such events.
