Title: Are you always a whiny ***** or is this something new?
Post by: dutch508 on January 24, 2015, 01:01:40 PM
Posted in General Discussion I bring you this OP about the perils of calling out people who cut in line ahead of you.  :o

Do you always speak up when someone cuts in front of you in line?

A few weeks ago, a couple of people tried to cut in front of me in a line at the store, and in response I firmly told them I was in front of them, they then apologized and said they hadn't seen me.

A week or two before that, a person had cut in front of another line I was standing in, but I was not the person in front of the line, and no one said anything. I then loudly told the person standing in front of the line, "Hey, that guy just cut in front of you!" and then after I spoke up, another person said the same thing, and then this pressured the guy in front of the line, and he then told the guy who had cut in line that he needed to go to the back of the line.

But I haven't always been so assertive in the past, and have let people cut in front of me before, without saying anything.

Recently I decided it is wrong to let people cut in front of you and you shouldn't let them do that, because they are in fact disrespecting you by doing this (and anyone else who might be in line behind you)

At the same time, I know a lot of people are timid, and find it difficult to speak up like this in public.

How about you?

Are you black? No? STFU WHITEY AND GET TO THE BACK OF THE MF LINE!!!!

7. I don't sweat the small stuff. But, I am a black woman raised in the South. Disrespecting by line jumping is small potatoes. I had "the talk" when I was young.

 :o ... wait for it...

15. How often does it happen because of prejudice do you think? Just curious what kind of BS you have to put up with from hateful ass holes.

12. They could have a good reason for cutting. They may not have noticed you, or may have something they desperately need to get back to quickly, or may be having a totally shitty day where their mom just died and dog was at the vet and their car blew a head gasket and they got laid off last week. I have a tendency to cut people slack because you really don't know what is going on with them.

I really don't give a crap about being "disrespected" by someone who cuts on purpose because they think they are more important either.

Meh.

Leftist aways defend any behavior no matter how bad. Cut in Line? Maybe he was having a bad day. Killed someone? Maybe he had a bad childhood. Bottom Line: Never their fault.

18. Yep, without hesitaion.

It's not that difficult to distinguish the confused from the genuine line bumping assholes, and I approach
each and everyone accordingly to the circumstance.

If I have to get the cashier or manger involved, so be it.

Most are apologetic, but once in a great while (maybe 5-6 times in 40+ years for me), some insist on being jackwads  about it. The best ones were the women who threatened to get their boyfriend/husband involved and "come kick my ass".

Whatever

Then there's the entitled, selfish asshats that think it's perfectly fine to roll up with a full shopping cart in the express lane.

4-5-6 items over, I can understand.

I've done that myself, and who here hasn't (and yes... I'm that kind of person who actually counts what I have
in my cart before I checkout in the express lane).

But 10-20-30 because the other lines were backed up?

Dude/dudess... you need an attitude adjustment and I will call you on it.

DUmmy's Entitlement attitude vs. line-jumper's entitlement attitude. That should be fun to watch.

Five or six times out of every year for the past 40+ years, someone has cut a line in front of this DUmmy and "insisted on being jackwads about it."

Lets do the math:  :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: or :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy:  x 40 = a shitload of bouncies!

Ah. You were asserting male privilege. Were you standing with your legs apart- mandangling*- when you did it? Of course that would be like two raisins and a pencil eraser, so the term micro-aggression would be apt.

Let's see... you have $20 in merchandise, and the other guy (more likely a woman, based on your puffed up chest about mandangling) has $200. Who is the better customer?

Also, you have no problem with being that asshat with "4-5-6 items over", but not someone else being the same kind of asshat on a larger scale. I guess it's a a matter of whose ox is Gored.

Here in the South, not so much.

I kind of cut off someone in line at Walmart a few days before Christmas.  But not really, let me explain.  I had ONE item in a short regular lane (all the express lanes were 5 deep). Was next, got stuck behind someone who had to have a price check...was standing there for a solid 5 min.

A cashier opened up a new line, invited the lady with a full cart DIRECTLY BEHIND ME over to it.  I jumped over while she tried to maneuver the cart.  The clerk said "that was awfully rude of you!". I said calmly...look ma'am I have 1 item, ring it up, I'll swipe my card & be done in 45 seconds.  Which was exactly what transpired.  She did have a scowl on her face.

I felt momentarily bad, but took a few deep breaths & said screw it.  Might have been technically in the wrong, but decided who cares.

Damn you and your white male one-item privilege! Where was DUmmy VScott when they needed him?

I bet you were mandangling the whole time, too.

That was my post, too.  I cannot remember someone cutting the check out line, intentionally being an asshole.  Now, SOP for civilized people, who don't fling their poo then smell their fingers, is to use the standard "go ahead" gesture and smile.  Everyone is smiling, someone is appreciative and no one is really inconvenienced.

Enjoy the hell you live in, (D)Ullards.

Usually in the blue states, populated by DUmbasses.

Here in the South, not so much.

Far more civil here, than that hole at the northern end of I-57.  Everyone goes out of their way to be pleasant.

If you were man spreading and grocery raping properly, the cashier who opened the new line would have noticed you and invited you to be first on her line.

Dis-sentient: The opposite of a thinking creature.

That would be a good subversive troll name.

Just sayin'.
