" Due to OBAMACARE more preparation time and additional tax forms will lead to higher preparation fees and automatic extensions unlike any filing season we've seen before"

"Brace yourself, so far this act has created FIVE new IRS forms, complicating the simplest of tax forms"

For reasons I cant go into I cant change accountants right now, but I would if I could.

So ****ing sick of this god damn shit.

Oh snap.  But wait DU has an idea:

They take your information and put it into a computer. The system fills out the forms. It isn't more work but you will probably get charged more.

Boasting about your position of wealth at the DUmp is a hanging offense.

6. Torbo tax made it easy
Coincidentally I did them today and they ask two simple questions. Do you have medical insurance and did you have it all year? I picked yes on both and carried on. I owe 1,300 dollars in federal taxes beyond what I paid so even though my taxes are done. I won't file until April. Why let them use my money for free those few months?

Guess they never heard about Turbo Tim.....

And then there was also this just in:
Quote
http://americasmarkets.usatoday.com/2015/01/22/turbotax-admits-mistake-pays-customers/

TurboTax 'messed up,' refunds customers

Investors outraged by TurboTax’ recent change that forced them to pay 50% more for the tax preparation software can put down their pitchforks. TurboTax isn’t just apologizing, but will refund the money.

Beginning Friday, TurboTax’ maker Intuit (INTU) will issue $25 refunds to any TurboTax customer forced to buy the most expensive version of the company’s software this year after buying the less-costly Deluxe version last year. Intuit has put a link up on its website (turbotax.intuit.com/25back) where TurboTax customers can claim their refund.

There’s been a uproar among TurboTax users this year after Intuit announced a major change that amounted to a price hike on investors. Starting this tax year, any investor who sold even a single share of stock was forced to buy TurboTax Premier, which is the most expensive consumer version of the desktop software. In years past, the Deluxe version would handle capital gains calculations.
{snip}

Yep, these fools couldn't get lucky with a fist full of fifties in a room full of hookers.  Taxes?  DUmmies don't pay no stinkin taxes.
And if they do they probably use the free service at the local library. Like the little birdie sings, they are cheep, cheep, cheep.

[full disclosure, my accountant's letter ran two plus pages and included a worksheet]

Off the wall question.....If CD's are paying less than 1%, how much interest does the government charge for amounts owed from miscalculations on taxes? ....and why can't I get that rate for savings?

A very astute question and here is an answer.

Quote
Little Johnny was sitting in class doing math problems when his teacher picked him to answer a question, "Johnny, if there were five birds sitting on a fence and you shot one with your gun, how many would be left?" "None," replied Johnny, "cause the rest would fly away." "Well, the answer is four," said the teacher, "but I like the way you're thinking." Little Johnny says, "I have a question for you. If there were three women eating ice cream cones in a shop, one was licking her cone, the second was biting her cone and the third was sucking her cone, which one is married?" "Well," said the teacher nervously, "I guess the one sucking the cone." "No," said Little Johnny, "the one with the wedding ring on her finger, but I like the way you're thinking."

Just not to your question. :whistling:

Opps, just reread DUmmie's post, he OWES money.  My bad.

So, in that case, he is denying Uncle Barry his due for 3 months, money that can be used...wherever...

DUmmie patriotism on display.

I am an accountant, but don't work for a practice doing taxes (FOR A REASON!!!).  Yet I still consult clients & friends, and have seen this disclaimer already at least a dozen times.  Friends are asking me "WHAT THE F*** does this letter mean", etc.  I warned them, as I have throughout the last 20+ years, that tax laws change every year.  The IRS all of a sudden realizes that different rules might be interpreted in different ways.

As predicted, 0bamacare has made the entire process a giant clusterf***.

Call the IRS 10 different times, and assuming you ever get through, you'll get 10 different answers to the same question.  They don't even understand the laws, and I don't think their answers are legally binding even if you follow them.

Everybody's getting those letters from their accountants.  All kinds of shit is going to hit the fan come April.  Expected refunds will be up in smoke, along with the plans for them.  Giant prep bills, delays, and the phone at the IRS going unanswered.

I used to work for one of these places, too and every single one of the returns had to be checked by a human to make sure all the proper boxes were checked. Plus, software has to be retooled or replaced. That costs money. If it's a small business, especially, they wouldn't be able to absorb the cost.

I have known my accountant since we went to grad school together and would trust him with my wife or life.  Few people have more personal information on you than your accountant.  Not all tax preparers are accountants, not all accountants are CPA's and on it goes.  What this thread pointed out to me is that there are whole lot of DUmmies who are sandbagging their peers when it comes to relative access to wealth *and of course access to relative's wealth in the case of those like Pittstain.

The letter and form I received is probably standard fair this year if you have had a long standing relationship with a tax professional.  DUmmies will be even more surprised by the cost of 'free' healthcare as time goes on.  This is just the opening shot across the bow to get them prepared for the incoming barrages that will follow.  Surprise, surprise, surprise, Gomer Pyle is gay!! :rotf:

Looks like Turbo Tax has a little 'splainin to do.

http://americasmarkets.usatoday.com/2015/01/27/turbotaxs-database-knows-your-secrets/
Quote
TurboTax customers are already outraged with a stealth 50% price hike in the software this year. But more secrets are coming out that might be equally surprising to some.

Intuit (INTU), the company that makes TurboTax, maintains a database containing users’ Social Security numbers, names and other personal data — even for customers using the desktop version of the software who save their files on their own hard drives.

The existence of the database was revealed to users when Intuit set up a website for customers to ask for their $25 refunds from the software price increase. The site at turbotax.intuit.com/25back requires users to enter their Social Security numbers to get their $25 refunds. That indicates that personal tax data is, indeed, being stored by Intuit.

An honest mistake your Honor, a good boy gone bad.   :-)  Hack, hack, cough, wonder how long before someone gets Intuit??

You know that the other actors on the Andy Griffith Show had to know that Jim Nabors was a homo, even though it back in the early/mid 60's.

The Gomer Pyle character was based upon. A character that Andy Griffith played in  50 ' s movie called, No Time For Sergeants.

In other words, when you walk into one of the popular tax preparation shops like H&R Block or Liberty Tax Service, the person you hire isn't necessarily required to meet any competency requirements or hold any type of license or certification as a tax professional.
So, any DUmmie can prepare tax returns.  :-)

I've used Turbotax for 15-20 years now, and the cost seems to be fairly consistent the entire time I used it, between $60-75 depending on the paperwork I had to file that particular year.

Note to DUmmies, you DO know if you don't make above a certain amount of money, you don't have to file, right?  I figure most, if not all, DUmmies would qualify.

But then again, DUmmies would pay $50-100 dollars to file just to get back a $25 refund...

If the DUmmies were smart enough, they would have a very low paying job (on paper) and then get the form of income called Earned Income Credit. It would have to be on paper only because most DUmmies would lower themselves to actually get a job. They are 'free from the chains of employment.' :-)

Mine is simple enough, that I use the free H&R Block online, but I always do it by hand first.  Illinois has a simple form and you file online at the state website. However, since Illinois needs to keep people's money, they aren't allowing people to file yet.  I'm sure they won't extend the deadline though.

They are so smart they want to tax stay at home parents...

BOLO for this article's appearance at the DUmp.  Slowly but Shirley the DUmmies will begin to feel the pain.

WASHINGTON — Obama administration officials and other supporters of the Affordable Care Act say they worry that the tax-filing season will generate new anger as uninsured consumers learn that they must pay tax penalties and as many people struggle with complex forms needed to justify tax credits they received in 2014 to pay for health insurance.

If they think this is bad... wait until the penalty tax for not having health insurance rises up to where it costs people some real money and the IRS confiscates their entire refund.
