We had to dig for change in the couch to buy bread,
and lie about every extra cent my father made to keep our rental assistance from dropping so much that we ended up on the street.
If I were in your position, Senator Ernst, I'd tell my story too, but I'd also use that position to ease the pain and suffering of people growing up in poverty.
You just want us to shed tears over your sob story so we won't notice you pulling the ladder up behind you.
**** you, Senator. **** you.
What is with the Ernst hate? They give up on Palin? Nice added bouncy DUmmie.

Wow. There's a lot of Hate going on, on that thread.
The primitives must be sexist, hating a woman like that.
-
I believe the hatred for her is rooted in jealousy. They hate success stories like hers, it just reminds them what losers they are.
-
Well, if Ykcutnek's daddy hadn't been drunk and smoked up on dope while wallowing around on the couch, the change wouldn't have fallen out of his pockets.
-
They usually act this way when they see someone that could actually be liked and carry a party (kinda like Palin was).

So basically, you're an example of transgenerational welfare dependence. No big surprise there, really.

I saw something where Joni Ernst's family took farm subsidies in the 1990s. Almost half a million. That may be what they're talking about.

I saw that article. It was farm subsidies for not farming corn blah-blah-blah. They had to lump in her uncle to get the amount up to (I think it was) $465,000 over about a 15+ year period. Hell, some DUmmies knock down more than that in that period of time for not doing anything.
....and don't forget that a lot of those vote buying farm subsidies were pushed through congress by democrats.

With backing from big corporate farmers.

And she is from flyover country and did not go to the elite schools.

But the District Sentinel investigation showed that Ernst’s own father, Richard Culver, received $38,395 in taxpayer handouts, almost all of which went to corn subsidies. The Iowa senator’s uncle, Dallas Culver, made out even better, soaking up almost $370,000 in federal agriculture subsidies.

Or about $2500 a year. ::)

You know, if you can be accredited with how much your extended family gets in government money, DUmmie families are probably knocking down a million or more every year.

Polarizing the target, Ernst gave the GOP answer to their god's SOTU address, so now they must destroy her.

I almost wish they would have picked Sen. Tim Scott to give the rebuttal.

I see that worthless Lindsay Graham on TV all the time but my conservative senator, never.

Why does keep getting reelected?

Why does keep getting reelected?
Money....no one can raise enough to defeat him in the primary AND there are usually a half dozen running against him. Sometimes I get the feeling that John McCains in the national republican party fund all those others in the primary to weaken a truly conservative(tea party) candidate.
-
Why does keep getting reelected?
Because he dies what every politician from every political persuasion does to get re-elected: LCS.
Lie, Cheat, and Steal.

I predicted after she won the Republican primary that Ernst would get the full "Palin" treatment during the campaign and if elected.
Hate to say I told you so...

In the 1950s (I finished HS in '60), in the days before PVC pipes were in all construction, my stepfather and I did plumbing work/repairs on weekends to supplement his income. I was small, so it was my job to go under houses. I hate spiders now. We had all our own pipe cutters, threaders, etc.
We also moved people's furniture.
We were never on any sort of government assistance. I have no sympathy at all for DUmmy bouncies about that sort of thing.

It ain't that hard to find the payments from the USDA. It's public info. Just go to their website and you can look up the checks paid to whoever by ZIP, County, etc.
I use it to gig the few friends that still farm when they start poor-mouthing their plight as "poor" farmers. There is one friend, who farms in partnership with his brother on 1600 acres of prime, Central Illinois black gumbo corn belt land near Bloomington, IL. Got a 'bad' tield in the last drought year. Only 225 bu/ac. What really subsidizes his farming is the oil royalty checks from the section of land their Grand Daddy bought on a Sherriff's sale in Bowman ND. He showed me his check from 2011. One third cut, $1.2 Million. Two wells pumping 300 plus barrels, every day, morning, noon and night.
On a side note, Do you know how farmers have that rolled bill of their seed corn company ball cap? They get that looking in the mailbox for their subsidy check.

What's for a DU member to like about her?
* She's a woman;
* She's an R;
* She's from a rural part of flyover country;
* Her family are farmers;
* Her college degrees - a BA and and MA - are from Oink U and Peach U;
* She has served, so far, 21 years in the Army Reserve and ING;
* She was deployed to the ME in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom;
* She's an R;
* She's a woman ... who isn't under the desk or available for a waitress sandwich.

Die in a ditch parasite.
That admission of cheating to keep Section 8 (an appropriate name!) housing caught my eye, too. I don't love farms subsidies (and my Dad was a farmer), but Sen. Ernst's father and uncle got whatever they got in conformance with the law. The DU member's family got what they got by violating the law. Big. Difference.

Farm subsidies are not welfare.
It's governmental market control.
Joni is getting raped from every side with every kind of rape by libs.
I thought libs were against rape.

Maybe it's not rape rape?
Literalizing hyperbolic metaphors gets very silly very quickly. Unfortunately (and bizarrely), many Libs and Progs seem to be taking the Culture of Rape faux hyperbole-metaphor seriously.

Ernst gave an honest story about her childhood. Obama used a Dem. operative and her family as a prop.
