What is the right-wings obsession with Nazi Germany and the Holocaust? it's freaking overkill.

5. They have such a fetish for playing the victim, and there's no better victim.
That's my guess. Gotta be as over the top as possible.
Is there a day that goes by without a DUmp thread about how America is fascist and how oppressed DUmbfuks are?

6. Also,
comparisons are being made between Obama and Hitler.
Way over the top.
Oh the irony.

The least self aware people on the planet! Irony, thy name is DU.

The left would like nothing more than to forget the Holocaust just so that it could happen again.

The left are just Nazis/Communists waiting to come out.

Hmmmmm ... We'd rather neither happened again? Our Fathers, Grandfathers, and (Great) Uncles fought against the Nazis? It was a world-changing 6-year war that made the world in which we grew up?

I can't speak for every conservative, but in >16 years on conservative news/politics discussion sites I've seen proportionally very few arguments based on invoking Hitler, especially if history discussions are excluded. Methinks this twerp is guilty of over-simplifying and over-stating a stereotype.

What?!? On DU??? Are you series?

My Dad's parents were Volga Germans who came to the US in 1904. All their children but one of their daughters were born in the US. My Dad and one of his brothers were 4-F during WW2, but their other brother served in North Africa and Italy. He was a mechanic, a natural fit for him since he grew up on a farm. For some reason the Army didn't take advantage of his other relevant talent: he grew up speaking German at home, which he continued to do to some degree into the mid 1960s.
When I was in school in the 1960s and early 1970s WW2 got scant time in US History classes. I suspect it hardly gets a mention nowadays - aside from the Japanese internment camps. So, ignoring the stupidity of the DU OP, I doubt that twit knows much about WW2 at all, let alone how it was formative of the world in which he grew up and now lives.

Oh man.
Probably without realizing it, you hit the nail right on the head.

I cannot count the number of threads that have a post containing the "First they came for..." quote in response to something. I think a thread about immigration was that last time I seen one. Also, during the 2000s, BusHitler...nuff said.

Nope. The left sides with Muslims not just because of their hatred of America, but also because Muslims want to eradicate Israel and Jewish people. And I think their hatred of Jews is stronger than their hatred of America, but it's close.
I have never understood antiSemitism.

This coming from the people who constantly compared President Bush to Hitler and frequently engage in anti semetism.

I do believe that is summarized in "Godwin's Law."

Soooooooooooooooooooo from the left we have to hear about slavery 24/7 but over 6 million Jews killed horribly is just to be forgotten? WTF evah. Y'all disgust me. :bird:

Well, considering their comments most of them probably wish the Nazi's had succeeded. No more JOOOOOOOOOOS living on a sliver of land occupied by their ancestors for thousands of years. After all, it rightly belongs to the Palestinians, a people invented out of whole cloth by the Jordanians, who won't share their vast lands with them or help them build better lives and communities. Oh, and they've never had a state but somehow the JOOOOOOOOOS should be killed ISIS style because they have to right to be there.

There was a thread posted in the Dumpster last week with the tagline "First they came for the disabled..."

Playing the victim ?
The libs invented and are constantly perfecting the strategy.

Obviously, DUmberSnow wasn't a part of DU during the "Bushitler" years. - Especially considering there is (or at least was) a fair amount of evidence suggesting that the name "Bushitler" was invented by someone at DU.
