2. Sure, it's not like the victims and their families are looking for closure here or anything. Why not. What are the odds there'll be another similar international-news-making attack in the next month

8. Closure seems to be another word for vengeance. By giving the guy a fair trial, we can demonstrate to the world that we really are above the terrorists and not the great satan they try to protray. Tsarnaev has a reservation at the Hotel Leavenworth with his name on it, how much difference does it really make when he actually checks in?
The terrorists don't care.

7. This is a defense tactic, IMO. and I see it failing badly. I see alcibiades_mystery's point, but I don't think it will succeed. The defense looks rather pathetic is they are using international happening to prevent the case from going forward. having said that, I understand they are going to try everything they can to stop this from going to court.
Not only the defense team but Barry's white house really doesn't want this to happen... or if it does... after the elections in 2016.

11. In the effort of justice, I agree with this tactic. It doesn't matter that he isn't related to it, it is a way to sway jurors potentially.
Why, just today the white house stated it's not about islam, there is no terror war, and your chocolate rations were raised from 2.50 grams a week to 2.40 grams!

His defense lawyers also wanted a change of venue. Like they can find anywhere in the US that hasn't heard of the Boston Bombing. The guy should never have been taken alive and this wouldn't be a problem.

The only question in my mind is just where does the Bostonian Drunkard's stand on this issue. That is really the defining opinion we all need to hear. :-)

If I was a defense lawyer for this thug I'd want it to continue so that when my client was found guilty I already had my appeal ready to go based on a tainted jury pool.
If anything its probably the state that called for the halt....so as to deny the defense the above mentioned appeal.

Not to mention the legal fees.
I'm pretty sure the defense is on the federal lawyer's yellow brick road. A little delay here, a nuisance motion there. Pretty soon, there's $100 bills falling from the sky. Right into the defense team lawyers' pockets. The sad part is, after hundreds of thousands spent on the trial, the bastidge won't get the expedited termination process that the OK City Fed Building bombers got. He'll while away his remaining decades enjoying his 3 hots and a cot in Terre Haute.
