Death Watch Day:27 dawns with the great soon to be late OS still looking out the window as the snow piles up. OS can't help but wonder how cold it will be lying in the ground...
BUT, **** that, MFM died almost a year ago!

We should really do something for the anniversary of MFM's passing.
Which IIRC is coming up in a few days. Any ideas?
I was going to dig a hole in the snow and shit into it. What are you going to do?

1. John Steinbeck was one of his favorite authors.
He claimed drinking a fruity, colorful, mildly alcoholic beverage at a bar would attract the ladies to you.
Pants were always optional.
He had a comedy gig on a radio show at some point.
If I recall correctly, he was an English major in college.
In between a slew of comedic posts he would sometimes throw in poignant stories from his life that seemed almost out of character unless you'd been reading him for a while on here and knew he did that sort of thing from time to time.
He had a story published once. It was about sex. Surprise!
Those are a few of the things I remember about him from the board. Maybe that will help get the creative, commemorative ideas flowing.
... :o ... What will OS be remembered for... Mini Tacos?

5. I second that...Has it been a year already???? I remember when he was feeling blue because he felt no one was paying attention to his lounge posts.
And here we are, a year later, still missing him.
You guys have already forgotten about OS and he isn't even dead yet!

14. Friday will be the anniversary of his passing. MFM (James Swope) died on January 9, 2014.
SWOPE, James P., friend, entertainer, writer, died January 9, 2014.
Rest in peace, Jim. You have taught me some important things with your kindness. You were one of a kind, and many are better people for having known you.

7. I agree; we should do something for him, in his memory...Kali would remember the exact day.
I will always miss him
You didn't even sign his memorial page.

32. It took me a while to put it together but I believe that his miffed posts came at a times when his health was at a low ebb. He would have a health crisis and then come back ready to entertain us some more. It seemed to be a pattern. I hardly blame him for his curmudgeoness as he fought the good fight for a lot longer than most could have. He was quite a guy.
There was a good chance he didn't have alot of friends in real life. You guys were his 'family'.

Although one notices not only is the mountain man primitive, the ThomWV primitive, is missing, but also walrus-face and dear old sweet Lu of the cooking and baking forum. The primitives forgot all about them.

Actually, the Big Guy announced his terminal death spiral on August 23, so officially today is Death Watch Day 137.
Hopefully the Big Guy will do a more efficient job than that loathesome Cleveland ward heeler, who has cost the taxpayers millions in intensive care with no end in sight.

And here we are, a year later, still missing him. :bs:
Next year, there won't be a single mention of that loser.
I'm beginning to wonder if they'll notice the bearded sweatstains, first passing.
