Day 35 of mass protests in US......is the MSM covering any of it???

Definitely notable. 35 straight days of protest, mostly under the rubric of Ferguson, and justice.
Protests not only in NYC, but other cities, AND in other countries.
And very well coordinated.

Twitter and Facebook is where the information, news and communication is happening.

The intertubes have changed the face of revolution.

Edited to add:
Excellent summation of the new protest movement here, and why it is different than the movements of the 60's/70's.
The Birth of a New Civil Rights Movement
2014 was an epochal year for social justice. 2015 could be even more dramatic.

2. Mass protests?

Frequent, maybe. But today in small numbers.

Plenty of coverage in the days following the Ferguson and Staten Island killings when there was volume to be reported on.

Whatchu talkin about?

3. No, but I have seen a few reports fawning all over law enforcement.

And how they are "heroes" for all the hard work they're doing to "keep us safe" throughout this apparently extraordinarily dangerous holiday season.

Boxing day was always the scariest one for me.

I thought Canada had no crime.

5. C'mon

There are no mass protests. They're very small. Like I predicted the New Years eve one died out quickly in NY. It's pretty much over.

You are not long...learn to mole dammit.

7. Mass as in they are happening all over the country, not just in one city.

Pls see the link I added....which makes the case for why it is not over.

Yeah a fat whore in Tuscon sucked off 10 hobos while wearing a Che t shirt.

9. I don't really agree that they are dying out, but.....

I guess we'll see. I DO expect this one to morph into a more inclusive social movement against the entire system though. Too many activists are beginning to connect the dots between oppression and the system that encourages it, i.e., capitalism. And not just Classic Red activists too, although they are in the vanguard of the "connecting the dots" education. Activists who wouldn't or haven't ever considered themselves "Reds" are beginning to see that Marx was right.

There's been a pretty straight line progression from the Wisconsin protests to the Occupy protests to this new one against police violence. And they followed on each other's heels. I don't expect that to stop until the oppression stops. And since it's capitalism, I don't expect the oppression to stop until capitalism is no more.

Every movement has been more militant than the last and I expect that to continue also.

It is only a short time for the hammer and sickle flag to rise!!!

14. Yeah and that "angry bunch of Americans"........

is why it's so important to connect those dots. Because if we don't get it right and raise the consciousness of those angry ordinary Americans we could EASILY wind up with an especially virulent and open form of American fascism as a response. That's the "barbarism part of "socialism or barbarism" which is the choice we are facing today.

In other words, freedom has to end for the socialist revolution to proceed.
Gosh,who would have guessed?

17. I can relate and empathize......

I'm getting on up there in years as is my wife. She's got some health problems (controllable IF she has medicines and IF we can afford the medicines), so it's not going to be any sort of picnic no matter the final outcome. I'm actually trying to keep a stash of food and immediate needs for about six weeks, just in case the shit hits the fan in my lifetime.

I just hope that is enough, but then again it should be. As outspoken as I am EVERYWHERE, I doubt that I live through it, but I do worry about my wife and kids.

What a warrior you are.

8. I doubt that Corporate Media is covering them. But you are correct, twitter and fb

is full of news about them keeping people informed about where they will be etc.

And at this point, that is where most people get their news anyhow.

Lunatics maybe.

Why do Dummies keep bringing up a revolution? You have to wake up before three pm to start a revolution.

They have a long way to go before they're as effective as the Million Man March, or Occupy Wall Street, or Not One Damn Dime Day.

Since the media is all about covering up your stupidity, you should be happy you're getting so little coverage. This whole thing started with a lie that you idiots still believe. Revolution is supposed to illicit change, to make people aware of a problem that needs fixing, like the Tea Party did when warning the country about the affordable care act. Your stupid die-ins only piss people off. Wasting precious seconds moving out of the way of an ambulance, if you move at all. Keeping people from picking up children, scaring little ones excited about performing at a national Christmas celebration and shopping malls. Sure you're raising "awareness" but it's the kind that alienates the people you're trying to inform. The new bounty on cops isn't helping either.

"Excellent summation of the new protest movement here, and why it is different than the movements of the 60's/70's.
The Birth of a New Civil Rights Movement."
A couple ways in which it is indeed different from the Civil Rights Movement of the 60's:
1. The movements in the 60's generally had clear, concrete goals. The protests now are just mindless "F&&k the po- lice, let's kill them, and loot and burn everything in sight!"
2. Most of the protests in the 60's were peaceful, with the then truly brutal cops often being the first to resort to violence. In the protests now, everything is the opposite.
3. The Civil Rights protestors in the 60's were generally intelligent young people who truly understood the movement and what it stood for. The protestors today have all let their minds be fogged over by blind, stupid rage and/ or heavy drug use.

Bill Ayers may yet live to see his 25 million dead Americans......but I hope he is one of the first useful idiots to go.

Who else besides me thinks Obama is just Bill Ayers puppet?
