Q: Is it true that George W. Bush took more vacation days than Barack Obama? A: Yes.

Q: Is it true that George W. Bush took more vacation days than Barack Obama?

A: Yes. Before his two-week trip to Martha’s Vineyard in August, Obama’s count was 125 full or partial days and Bush’s total at the same point in his presidency was 407.

That's 13 months the White House press corps spent away from home attending to George W. Bush at the same point in his presidency. 13 months away from their kids, most of it spent in that hellhole at Crawford Texas.

And that's not all:

We last dealt with the who-took-more-vacation question in January 2010, at which point Obama had spent 26 days on “vacation” during his first year in office, fewer than the first year totals for Presidents Bush, George H.W. Bush or Ronald Reagan...

Bush’s total for his two terms in office is 533 days, which includes 490 at the ranch and the rest at Kennebunkport. For comparison’s sake, President Bill Clinton’s total is 174 days, and Reagan hit 390 (349 at his ranch and 41 in Palm Springs), according to Knoller.

Adding in Camp David visits would bring Obama’s total to date to 223 (that’s 83 days at Camp David) and Bush’s total for his entire time in office to 1,024 (491 days at the presidential retreat). Note that Obama still has more than two years in office to narrow the gap.

That's nearly 3 years the press corps spent with Bush on vacation during the 8 years of the Bush administration

So President Bush spent 533 days away from the White House at either his own house or his mom and dad's house?

The grifting POS used car salesman is always jet setting off to Hawaii and Martha's Vineyard and posh golf country clubs, but working from home or making an occasional visit to see your elderly parents is a bad thing?

How long is the left going to keep on defending this worthless POS?

Although a cut and paste with barely a dozen replies isn't much of a defense.

Can we compare rounds of golf too?

DUmmies...the reason this is in the public consciousness is thanks to you morons making such a big deal out of it the previous 8 years.

Oh and FWIW...how many major crises happened when W was President that he immediately took off on vacation during or in the immediate aftermath of?

Considering how much work he doesn't do and how much pressure he isn't under from the so-called White House press corps, being in DC IS vacation time for Obama.

Ho hum, Kathy P.

Pay attention, and learn something. What do these presidents have in common?

W
George Bush
Reagan
Carter
Nixon
LBJ
JFK
FDR

They all owned homes (or estates) which served as the second White House for the sitting president. Even the socialist-loving FDR owned his retreat home. Ike used the general officers' quarters at Lowry AFB as his Little White House. Truman used the US Naval Station at Key West.

King Putmos wastes taxpayer money flying himself, the family, and his entourage all the way to Hawaii, despite the fact that he owns a house in Chicago.  We (the taxpayers) pay for full protection on that unused house 365 days a year; the loneliest person in Chicago has to be the greeter at Castle Obama.

Putmos has also used the Blue Heron Farm at Martha's Vinyard, which means he got The Clenis' sloppy seconds. The Clenis owned a house, but it got towed.

Double the money it costs us taxpayers since most times they either fly there or back to D.C. seperately.  Not to mention the transport (usually a C-17 or C-5) that hauls the Presidential Limo and the support vehicles, equipment and staff the advance team that has to go out a week in advance to secure the area around the DNC bundler's house that will be used for that particular vacation and the cost to the city to reroute traffic close down streets and restrict access to businesses along the route and in the neighborhood.

But don't you ever accuse him of not being for the little guy!  :whatever:

I'm with you. Just because he's in the house does not mean he's on the job.

I thought he sold that house during his first term.  Did he buy another one?

It's not so much the time, but the costs to the taxpayers.  Throw in Michelle and the girls vacations and the costs soar.

It's been established that the Obama White House budget has been more than what the Royal Family in England is allowed.

Just a tiny glaring fact that seems to get overlooked when libs discuss Obumbles vs BOOOOOOOSHH vacation days.

I fully support the jug-eared muslim spending hundreds of days on vacation in Hawaii, Africa, Europe, or any other place in the world.

Shipping him, the First Wookie, little Shemalia and Gemalia, his mother-in-law, Al Sharpton, and all the various hoodrats and felons who form his entourage off on Air Force One for weeks at a time costs the republic far less than the damage he would do if actually working on his agenda.

I hope he surfs and plays golf in Hawaii until time to prepare for his Spring Break trip.

By their definition, we are all on vacation.  All the time!
